red fiat ;)
Working on a better set of pacenotes for Roger's TestTrack and will try to add some x-tra and hopefully better notes.
Nice Fiat!
I have converted the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 6 from Race Driver to RT,
But as it would be stealing I won't release it. :OMG:
You can see some screenshots of it at my site.
My project X is nearly done too :D

looks like chervolet corvette?
Yeah a little bit. I used Lancia Stratos model as a base when doing that.
Wasn't my intention to make it look like Corvette, but what can you do :D
Ford Focus RS WRC 2003
Toyota Corolla WRC
Peugeot 206 Super 1600
No particular order so far... Just doing a little bit here and there when I have time. 'Will put some screens at my site when there is something interesting to see... ;)

for RT? arcade stage? rally stage?
Nurburgring Nordschleife - Nuff said
for RT? arcade stage? rally stage?
Yes, it's for RT. Think it's an arcade stage and there will be a gravel and a tarmac version.
Yeh - would be cool to drive Nurburgring in the lap mode, but isnt the physics in arcade mode downgraded?
Don't know if it is arcade or rally. but isnt the physics in arcade mode downgraded?
Oh yes, forgot it. Than I would say it is rally.
Look at the JoWood-Forum for more information.
Progress is good and bad........I have had some help (thanks and all will become clear when I release). Now I have some new problems (un-expected and very hard to pin down).
It is a stage, initially it will be gravel. A tarmac version will not be far behind. IMHO, with the way RT physics works I think people will enjoy gravel much more.
I have no idea how arcade works - maybe one day.
As far as lapping goes, the first release will not be "lappable". This is mainly because (again - my opinion) I think that one lap (22km) will take approx. 10mins (ish - I am guessing) to complete, which would be enough for most people.
Also, IF it can be made lappable (there are some good ideas people have put forward as to how this can work which I will try) - it will need 10 laps before you get a replay (approx. 100mins driving time - if you don't crash and re-set to the very beginning!). Do not fear, if lappable works, it is an easy upgrade - worth doing after the 1st gravel release and the tarmac is done.
Be patient out there, this is gonna take a little time.
Roger if you make it 10 laps and you crash on let's say lap 5 you probably won't need to drive the first 5 laps again as you have already passed through those checkpoints. Just a thought....
Also if anyone's interested I have put some pics of my focus at my site
Well, at the moment in "new" tracks RT dumps you back at the 0,0 point. I assumed that it would not have counted checkpoints, but you never know.
There could be other ways of arranging the checkpoints, I guess I will find out once the basic track is drivable and released. ;)
The Focus is gonna be yummy (just rushed over and had a look)
I hope this will be Fiat 850 Abarth someday...In this moment so busy at work that have no possibilities to get it ready.. :(
Go on, the Fiat 850 is a fantastic car.

cool...
Starting small here folks... :)
I have modified the Escort to have AWD, 350 or so HP. (It *was* 700 or so HP, really tought me how to drive at part throttle, and it helped me improve my driving of the RWD cars especially the Stratos which I've left stock)
But the INTERESTING part is how the sounds work. The idle sound works up to 3000rpm, then the 3k soundfile takes over up to 6k, etc.
I put a bridge ported rotary idle sound in (brap brap brap) as the "idle" sound. Amazingly, it works *almost* correctly! It braps in proper time (roughly 4 braps per second at 1500 idle) and the stuttering increases at the proper pace with RPM, and at 3k it smooths out. As revs come below 3k it starts brapping again. The only way it doesn't work properly is that with a true bridge/peripheral port rotary they smooth out under load at any RPM, so it really should only be brappy at idle or under deceleration. But as it sits, I am happy!
Too bad RT doesn't seem to have separate sound modeling for load/no load the way NFS:Porsche Unleashed does. If it did, I could get it *perrrfect*.
- Pete (rotary addict, next phase is duplicating the Havspeed Gp5 car)
One thing we could really do with is someone who is a whizz at sounds. For me they are very important to the whole experience.
Peejay, could you get some sounds done for the standard cars and upload to No-Grip? Is it possible to get crackling/popping on a trailing throttle?
Cheers
I have done the first in-game test with my Focus and it worked pretty well, as expected. There are lots of stuff left to do but I put some screens on my site so go and check them out HERE! (http://rts013.no-wheels.net)
If you take a close look at the pics you see a working third brake light at the top of the rear window...:) Anyone want to know how I did? I just made some extra space in the light texture and put an extra light and a flare in there. Using the alpha channel I made the flare transparent and made it show only when braking. The flare is mapped to a flat surface hanging in the air behind the light in the 3d-model. The only error in this is that it too stops working when the left brake light crashes. But that's nothing that I care much about...;)
Ive started and ended a project of making pacenote's for Nurby.
They r now finished and uploaded.

Nice to hear that Focus is progressing!
I haven't been able to create physics for my cars because my wheel is broken (for the third time!). As soon as I'll get Momo racing force from somewhere I'll finish those physics and release my projects. :banghead:
BTW I converted Ford Focus from Race Driver. It's easy to make skins for so accurate models!
Want to make the HTCC NSU!
Nothing big at the moment, only some skins. Want to make my green Simca skin again- in red and yellow.
Started my work with Citroen Xara WRC yesterday :)
As I say in the readme, this may not work - a shot in the dark! But here is a replay showing proof that the Nurby exists in RT now.
http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=333
Otherwise can someone tell me how to make a video?
But, just in case it does not work...........some screenies over here:

Chevrolet Corvette 1969 coming soon... :P
That's a very nice model, lml. After the release of Nurby, these muscle cars have increased in appeal... :) Hope you find a good sound for it
I hope so too. Hopefully I can get sounds from Race Driver, there is one older corvette too. :)
Anyone making Fiat 131 Abarth? If some one is looking for project...
I am going to try some experimentation just to be sure, but as I've already mentioned, it does not appear that the game differentiates between acceleration and overrun as far as engine sounds are concerned.
That Torino causes my game to crash, by the way. Just exits to Windows when I try to enter a stage.
Petya-V8
7 August 03, 16:44
Erm... Yeah...
I have mentioned in the readme, that the Torino is buggy, haven't I? Something in Zmodeler makes the car crash the game, but don't know what. So far, I have been told about wipers bug, but this is something different.
Sorry if I disappointed you, I have uploaded the car to get someone help and point out the bug for me. :(
Hi  ,
I'm working on that (started today)... See my other post to see original picture.
I hope this will be a very good car on Nurb, like original one
but very soon I will need some help...

This one is on the way, just needs some textures and its done.
Got to figure out how to do with the engine, 500 cc wont rally and the car will probebly need >70 hp to move fast.
I´ll probebly have to make it a turbo-version ;)

I´ll try my best to finish it soon. Sometine after X-mas probebly when school and work allows. Haveing some problem with textures but it will probebly work out fine. Coould need some help or general tips though.
Think I figured out how to do with the engine. High rpm and pretty low momentum is the way to go.

The realistic mod by TheTireTeam is allready finished, but not released in public for the moment (interested forum-members can download a beta version on page 13 of the "better tirephysics"-thread, but be warned - this mod is very, very difficult to drive and beginners or gamers, that just want to have some fun and are not really interested in serios sims should stay their hands off!!!!!!). The reason is, that this is only one part of a complete overdo of the current physics (exept the cars specifications, for we think, Ken is doing a perfect job here  ) and some sound and grafic effects, that are not essential for driving, but add some more realism in replays. The whole package will contain the new tiredynamics, a patch to get rid of the annoying, automatical reset when driving off track for more than a few seconds or after even small collisions, adjusted tiresettings for the FTC cars and maybe for some of the most popular addon cars to match better with the new tiredynamics (so far Ken doesn't make this as a part of his real data based carphysics), some adjustments to sounds and grafical effects, last not least a correction of the ai-speed to be competetive with Koppinen and Co again (the laptimes after this mod will be about 25-30 seconds slower than by default). And maybe some things more, if some more of you are willing to help with their own creativity.
Because this mods are more orientated on reality than on gameplay, driving will be more difficult and challenging, we are afraid beginners will have some difficulties to get familiar with it, sorry for that. But converting RT in from a realistic game into a serios sim will have its price, unfotunately. Nevertheless we will invite ALL RT-fans to visit our project and be a important part of the TireTeam-project. Those of you, who are driving GPL too and have ever visited the RSC-forum will know the "little addon for Monza" and "Monaco rocks" threads. Let's try to do something similar for RT and keep this great game alive!
TheTireTeam is a free group of editors and members of No-Grip, so feel free to help us with feedback, ideas or by adding some own edits to a great, common project and become a part of a great team.
A new thread about this mod will be opened soon!
Greetings to all RT fans,
TheTireTeam
Roger
29 December 03, 21:11
Well done :trophy:
For those who want to try these tyres - I would honestly say that they are not too difficult at all, you just need to adjust from what you are used to doing in RT. In particular, the dry Tarmac tyre is now very controllable a big improvement over the original tyre.
Make sure global torque is set to 1.0 for realism.
A brilliantly balanced set of tyres that have very good and distinctive behaviours on their correct surfaces BUT will punish you on the wrong surface.
All in all a BIG :trophy: & to the TireTeam

12 January 04, 10:46
Well, I'm working on a spreadsheet to help car builders. The basic idea is to take the chore and guesswork out of constantly changing the car.ini & engine.ini and also to make adjustments first in the spreadsheet (changes automatically update the "copy & paste" car.ini & engine.ini - so NO doubling up of work!).
Allows you to test top speed & gearing against engine power so that you know how closely your car matches any real car test data. Works out the aero-drag number required.
Works out the CofG location & MOI values by unputing the main masses of the car (engine, gearbox, driver/co-driver etc.).
Automatically calculates suspension values, which you can then adjust by ratios/percentages.
And some other stuff.
Nearly ready to roll-out - but the Downforce Effect on the suspension is a bit fuzzy still (although it's loss is not a tragedy for car builders)
The beauty of this will be that once you have built one car and are happy with your ratios/percentages of the tuning variables - to enter the base data for another car will bring you much closer to a good result with your first attempt.
Imagine

I choose the Auto Union, purely on the basis that it would look right lapping the 'Ring :trophy: Of course the Maser would look equally well there, but maybe it would be fun to experience the raw power of the Auto Union.
Bimotore could be an absolute monster to drive, so maybe would not be very popular.

I liked the Rothmans Ari Vatanen livery but that was early 1980s, Roger Clarks 1976 Cossack livery would be good and there's also Mikkola 1978 Eaton Livery. Maybe Steve Bannisters simple white with a red stripe :)
At the moment I just hope that I can get the model working in the game.

The model is done, but I'm still learning how to map textures.
Ok I´m having my first experience with a 3d program(zmodeler) it took long time before I could do anything. But as a first experiance I´m enjoying myself maby I picked a complicated car but I just NEED :smash: this one. Dont expect me to be ready to soon, probably I´m going to run into countless problems on my way. Have a peek of whats coming, enjoy
Here's pretty good blueprints for 131 Abarth ;)
Hi ! got some minor problem, dont know how to join the two halfs they are kind of 2 totaly different bodys?? by the way this is my first work in a 3d program so my knowledge is close to none, and I would be very glad for tips how to fit the paintwork, might speed up things so any tip is helpful. Greetings to you all
Here's tutorial where is explained that joining http://zmodeler.nfscheats.com/docs/program/fulltutor/zmtutor.zip
Shape looks pretty good
Thanks Midi!
Now I have some reading to do, already got some qlues
MudSnow

To join the halves, hide everything you don't want to join, select the object you want and go to
create>objects>unite select
Next you have to weld the vertices in the middle. Switch to vertex level and select two vertices at a time and use "unite select" again.
To save time, don't create anything you don't have to. Import the wheels, mirrors, helper objects, etc. from BugBear models.

Now that I finished collecting pics and facts,
I wanna try to build an 1971 BMW2002.
It´s my first time car-creating and it´s real difficult for me but if I have questions, I will ask the forum.
It will take time before it´s ready because I will make it
as realistic as I can.
So please be patient. :wc:

Holy Moly! :OMG:
I did a big mistake in my upper post! :slap:
I want to create a BMW2002 first generation, and that means
the years between 1968 and 1971.
The big difference is (not includet the machine) the round backlight.
On the photo you´ll see a second generation (1971 - 1973).
For RT, it´s my mind, it´s more interesting to drive a car before 1970.
And for that who don´t like this, change the engine and backlights.
Please forgive me, I don´t find a BMW-rallycar before 1971, maybe there is no one.
I´m allways open for sugestions, so post please!
I hope I don´t confused you too much, but REAL is REAL!
Cheers GARY.

As far as realism goes i think that most users here feel that the more realistic it is the better. So my suggestion also a pre 1970 2002. Or perhaps both than ;) if you feel like making the extra alterations.

Err, that the 3d-model of an Evo6 Tommi Makinen Edition, Also known as Evo 6.5. ;)
The Evo 5 has a different front bumper and the rear spoiler sits lower.
Merely details, I know...
This one is on the way, just needs some textures and its done.
Got to figure out how to do with the engine, 500 cc wont rally and the car will probebly need >70 hp to move fast.
I´ll probebly have to make it a turbo-version ;)
Whatever happened to this car? Perfect for touring car racing! Along with Imp and Mini. Maybe somebody has a Morris Minor?

sorry but I have to ask, what the heck is with those kerbs, they look rather ridiculous.. surely it would look better if they were just grass
Tell Roger, he put them there. :D I am just trying to make them useful. Haven't you installed Nurby? I will also release a second part which is designed to work without Nurby, therefore, no curbs. The only way to get rid of the curbs there is either to uninstall Nurby, get rid of Nurby textures, or remap every other track. But of course you knew that. ;) Unfortunately, RT won't let us add new textures, only overwrite old ones.
BTW Ken Thanks again for all your time and effort! :trophy:
It is much appreciated by all of us!

I have been helping with the Fiat 500 project. Just needs alpha channel problems sorted and then its more or less done.
Kiplali
Well, not exactly something I started a long time ago! :D Nurby was always going to be stand alone, simply because of the mess it makes of other Russia stages.
If you want to carry on altering the other stages to work with Nurby textures, you are welcome to use them.
There is an easier way to make a Russia tarmac (as long as Nurby textures are not installed ;) ).
Edit: Just noticed you mailed me - that's fine.
I still think it is easier to leave Nurby as a stand alone and just re-texture Russia the same way other people have coverted using standard BB textures.
Does anyone have Fiat x/9 Abarth Prototipo blueprints?
Anyone intrested to make mapping and physics of Fiat 850 Sedan if i make the model?
I still think it is easier to leave Nurby as a stand alone and just re-texture Russia the same way other people have coverted using standard BB textures.
Yes, but the point was to make those other stages useful for people who are using Nurburgring. Mostly myself, I guess, but I figured I may as well share it. :) Now that I have made the txt files, it will be a very small project to pave over the road surface on the tracks which don't have Nurby. I currently have three complete installations of RT.
Pikes Peak will also replace a Russia stage, but it is being mapped using BB textures, so other stages will be unaffected. Don't worry, the scenery is very similar to Russia, mostly just the trees are smaller, and the dirt is the same colour, so it will still look good.
But you could do a texture pack for pikes peak, it would be grreat!
Tell Roger, he put them there. :D I am just trying to make them useful. Haven't you installed Nurby?
yep but they don't look like that on nurby from what I remember.. of course its the mapping but it just looks so wrong :(.. it's like some kind of comic book track now ;)
After looking carefully, I am pretty sure that there are several textures that aren't used at all, including some of the building and road textures. These could be replaced with custom textures without affecting other tracks. Something to think about for track creators. Every time we have do another installation, hard drive space is taken up, and physics and car mod updates get more complicated. Or else we just mess up all the other tracks for people.
Yes, I have confirmed this. All of the road**wet textures, as well as road_gravel_2 and road_gravel_3 are unused. And I suspect other textures as well. So they could be used as anything without disturbing other stages.
Nurby was mapped the way it was so that if you choose not to change textures it looks "reasonable" as a gravel track. RT 1937 anyone? :D
I understand your point MudSnow, so far - apart from Nurby I have taken to using BB Textures to keep it simple. I think that other stages may be so specialised we are bound to get custom textures that affect other stages. If the new stage is good enough, I for one won't mind it messing up others (I think there may be an example of this in the pipeline ;) - Not me BTW)

Saw similar thing with an Anglia and Galaxie, changing places for 7 laps or so until the Galaxie brakes began to fade. Great stuff.
The Falcons were entered in varoius European rallies in 1963 and 1964 with some success. They won the Tulip and Geneva rallies in '63 and gained a 2nd in the '64 Monte Carlo, 4th in the Geneva rally and 1st in the Tulip.

A team of Australian built "works" Falcons (4 door version) also ran in the East African Safari in 1962 (or maybe 1964).
A member of my car club (Historic Rally Association) by the name of Ken Harper drove one of them ..... he has the event number plate hanging in his garage !
Ken is in fact still actively competing (he is in his 70's) - these days in a very pretty Mk 1 Escort painted up as a replica of Roger Clark's "Uniflow" car.
I bet we've been watching the same race Kiplali
:o I had been watching Galaxies - my mistake, but same principle applies :smash:
The Escort looks great, I really think that is a fantastic shape - right up there with some of the best looking cars ever.
I am sure I read somewhere that it was the Australian Falcon entry in the 1962 East African Safari that inspired the Americans to campaign the cars the following year.
The Ford Company of Australia entered 5 Ford Falcons in the 1962 East African Safari. The Harper/Scott car (No 83) retired after colliding with another competitor with less than 400 miles to the finish. The only Falcon to finish the event was the Firth/Hoinville car in 16th place.
Great to hear that Ken Harper is still competing. A big "Jambo" (hello in swahili) to him.
Ford of America entered a fleet of Mercury Comets in the 1964 East African Safari. Their Achilles heel was the suspension. Pre testing proved that the suspension was too soft and eventually the engineers came up with some super heavy shock absorbers, which were able to cope with the rough roads. However, during the rally, the rear suspension mountings could not stand the strain and parted company from the cross -member. Of the 5 Comets that started, 2 managed to complete the course after much welding on route.

I'll pass on a "Jambo" to Ken when next I see him ..... he is currently on holidays in sunny Queensland (flown north for the winter !!)
Ken is a pretty amazing guy - with some great stoires to tell ! As well as doing lots of the old Round Australia Trials in the 50's & 60's, he has also competed in the Monte (I think) and quite a few of the long distance touring car races "way back when" as well ..... and in more recent times has done Targa Tasmania in his Mustang. See this link http://f2.rallysportnews.com.au/cms/A_100429/article.html
Several of the Ford "works" rally cars back in the 60's were actually prepared in Ken's garage at his house (he still lives there too - there is some INCREDIBLE old stuff in the shed !)
I am navigating for his son Kim in an HRA event this Saturday night (in a Mk 1 Escort Twincam prepared by Ken) then again in a few weeks in a 1500km re-run of the "BP Rally" which was another classic Australian rally of the 1960's.

Ahh..now that is a good question. Originally started this car 18 months ago and only revived it about 3 weeks ago. Its gone really well, I have almost completed all the modeling side of it and then I'll send it off to my tuning department for the physics. So hopefully it won't be that long.
I think secretly I always wanted to make a Safari Mercury Comet but couldn't find any blueprints. There are similarities between the two cars
and it won't be to difficult to convert the Falcon. (new front and rear and extend the body by 15".

That's looking good, Gram  - think I can spare my time and better waste it on the realdata-physics for the FTC_cars.
The positions of the needles of the speedo- and rpm-meter are only provisorial. Pero and me wanted to change them to their right place after we have finished the interior cockpit. But if you go on with the cockpit in thís way until you did so far, we (TheTireTeam) and you should consider perhaps, to release the final version eventually with your improved and new textures. I am very busy this time with other projects and my job, so I don't see, that it makes much sense to rework our previous textures myself, the result would be very similar to your work at all. So why doing a good job twice!
What you think about the idea, Gram? Could you imagine to share your work with TTT (of course this will be honored in the readme and introduction as well!) and do a common release of the final car? If yes, please contact me and Pero when he's back from holidays - here in the thread or via PM.

Again, don't worry about needles of the speedo and rpm-meter, we will move them in their correct positions after the cockpit is complete. Also would suggest, to use a speedometer with a little higher topspeed than the default BB-instruments. I've done instruments for the cockpit and for the overlay instruments with a 250kmh limit. Can send you the file or post it here if you want to use it as a basic.

I still have lots of issues on the dashboard mapping and the taillights. In any case I intend to remap them both-or better said make a 3D model for the rear lights so that the damn triangle will dissapear and also perhaps redo the dash a bit.

the original works metro engines did blow on occasions. But nowadays they are very very reliable cars. I think alot of you also forget that the 6r4 engine was basically an f1 car engine as it had help by williams grand prix engineering on the whole car. There are alot more unreliable cars than the 6r4.
By theway, hows the 6r4 coming along?

Yes, looks very promising, MudSnow - and really one of my favourites. After your 2002ti have to say, you are getting better and better - so I really watch out for the Volvo PV!

I do not know what the 544 should sound like. Would someone like to help with the sounds? :)
Now the mesh is 80% complete.

It is certainly an interesting vehicle, what made you pick this one??
Looks like it will be great once it's finished. (we need more older cars)

Are you use the B16 or B18 engine? If you use the B18 engine i think you can use the sound from Volvo Amazon, not 100% but close enough fore me.
The PV is one of two car i missed so far. The ather one is the Saab 99 Turbo. Stig Blomqvist drive the Saab 99 Turbo from 1978 to 1981.

Currently has the B18B with M40 trans. So I will just use Amazon sounds unless anyone has any other advice.

This is a slow response, I know, but:
Grüezi Florenzo  , wenn du wotsch 's bitzeli Österreichischeduutsch räde, möchte i' au 's bisseli Schwiizerduutsch schriebe!
Sorry everyone for using the wrong language, but I just wanted to tell Florezo that if he is going to write in Austrian dialect then I shall write back in Swiss german (which sounds even worse than they speak 'out east'. (just kidding, you fine people of Graz) tschüssli Florezo

Nice car, espacially for Pepe2, the work looks very well done, allthough I don't like the shape of every original Sierra (neither 2 or 4 doors model), it's a granny's car IMO (regarding the shape). I prefer the Escort Mk I if it has to be Ford. :P
But it's only my personal taste, don't feel offended if it's your favorite car.

God, I hope it's 4WD...

I think i make both 2WD and 4WD, because they have almost same kind of like bodies. Biggest differences are in the hood and front mask.
