This will be our second point scoring race of RT rally season 2.
We will have a short hotlapping event based on teams(read about the Season2 announcement to know more).

We will use the usual RULES.

The competition starts on 6.2.2005 at 22:00 CET
The competition will stop on 13.2.2005 at 22:00 CET

Every team should represent every car class. If the team is fully represented each member can drive in one class only for the team part of the competition and all the classes must be represented in the team. (read more about it on the Team gathering place)
For each team you MUST first post a note(can be combined with the first time) of which member will be driving in which class and which car. We will not allow swaping cars during an event.

(I know I'm not much of a rules reader but the 2-3 days time as stated in the rules regarding short hotlapping events confuzzles me) :confused:

Yeah, Hakker, you can do as much runs as you want and update your previous time if you get a better one. Rules are the same as we had in our first team-orientated race.

Ah, and I don't think, RedRacer will take a seat in the Alp, she doesn't like the rear-engined cars so much. So it will stay your's. I think, she will have annother race in the small class. But for shure will give an answer herself tomorrow.

Good luck to anyone taking part. It is a really nice track and I hope you'll enjoy the race as well as you did with the first event.

For your pleasure if you don't like the yellowish touch of the surroundings, here is a little correction, that will give you back the more natural color of the original stage. As always apply it with the bfz-manager as a last step after following the recommended patching order.

For some reason this stage has a horrible FPS-rate. With my usualy used grafic-settings it is nearly undriveable on my computer and you get mad and a headache after a few hundred meters by those microstutters. As a solution I've reduced screen-resolution, view-distance and went back to standartreflections instead cubic. That helped and now it runs smooth, even some "eye-candy" is gone.

Guess what-> I hate this track too. Far too bumpy-honestyl never came across such bumpy roads myself and I live in a timberjack part of the country-sometimes the gravel roads up in the mountins get an awfull beating by them and the rain makes ruts into them, but although they get bumpy and ragged, it is a different form than this stage. Here the roads has plenty of waves and sharpish bumps over a small section and that never happens on real roads. You do get puddle ditches, but they are different.
However the flow of the road lines is great and if the stage would have been smoother(with keeping the natural bumps and jumps) the stage would be fantastic.

Anyway-here my time(awfull reserved driving-I have been 1.2 sec up on the third split a few runs before)

Why should I hate the track? Even I criticised some things in the downloadthread, that doesn't mean not to like it. If I'd really hate it, it wouldn't deserve much words and making a fix for the yellowish ambiente that appeared when resizing.
Apart from the things I mentioned in the downloadsection it is a phantasic track and deserves some attraction.

I hate the track too - but only, because I am that slow. Had a 3:51 drive after a few tries.
The track is fun to drive, but not that good for hotlapping, because it happens easily, that you cut the track, even if you don't want.

Will take the Escort in the fast class. But I have no time to drive, maybe I will drive only some minutes, so don't expect sensational times from me :wave:

Not a really good new about Gram! Nothing against your skills, Hakker - you've been really fast this time - but it would be nice, if Gram could earn some more points for us.
However, here is a improved time of mime - but I don't think, it will be very useful. Have seen my husband driving with the Mini, because Roger definitifely didn't got his computer right - and I only can say its demolishing! :cry: You are on your knees because of his classB-time - so if I say he's nearly as fast in a classA you will give you the bullet! Arghh, I really hate him - really don't want to think about, what his just more crazy teammate Pero would do! :banghead:

I'm a bit sorry about the fact, that Brithish Empire Racing was a little under-represented. For shure you had your reasons, but this way you donated possible points to the other teams.
And what about the Wheelburners? They announced their appearance, but no burning wheels in sight! Did you forgot the race, guys?
But maybe annother race annother chance - hope we will see you in future! The next event will be announced very soon.

I think, the version you modelled originaly is quite ok. What would be a better improvement are more realistic gearboxsettings. I think, this is one of the worse parts in your current version. Don't know, if this settings are authentical anyway, but in combination with the engine-specs it isn't really a pleasure to drive. Perhaps someone can find some datas of a close-ratio gearbox with a 1.0 ratio for the longest gear instead of the overdrive-gearbox with a much to long 5th. That would make much more sense for a highly equipped rally car.
But that's only my personal opinion and wents a bit OT here.

It does suffer alot from too low gearing, but have to keep with authenticity I presume, unless someone has a close ratio g/box that was used.

Just made the new physics and certainly has made quite a difference to handling and realism to the gearbox / engine specs.

I will upload version 1.1 soon

For most people seemingly voted for the Fiat500, perhaps the next race is with this one(but the moderators still haven't deceided), but we definitifely will care for the Celica within the next events. With a good physics - and I am shure it will be good now - it deserves some attraction! The model is very nice indeed.

I am very sorry about my lack of a drive this time around. I didn't notice the race was actually on until about half way through, as there was no announcement on the front page!. I know thats no excuse, but I rarely check the RT Racing forum unless theres a race on, and I was expecting an announcement! As for no drive, well I have been ill recently with something like the flu, so I havent been on the PC anyway.

I hope Nicky can make the next race, I don't know why he didn't race, I even sent him a PM on a British Rallying forum I know he goes on a lot!

Sorry Dave, I am letting you down, and I feel very bad about it. I am definately putting in a drive for Race 3 (which looks very exciting), and will check the RT Racing forum more often.

If Nicky doesn't show up again, maybe we should run as privateers?

Announcement for races are not posted in the news-section. It is only posted inside the racing-forum. Generally we make announcements a few days before we start an event or the event lasts for more than one day - so if you check the racing-section about two times a week you shouldn't miss anything.
