Third run type race on original Finn1 with the new Fiat124

This is another just for fun race this season.
The race venue will be the original Finnland 1 stage(on the request of the car author) and we will use the third run rule. This means that after you D/L the car you have two practise runs and submit your third run on the stage. This calls for gentlemens agreement, but that shouldnt be a problem here :)
Additions to the rules are that during the duration of the race nobody is allowed to D/L any of the replays posted. Also no time descriptions are to be used in the name of the file you upload as this will make it very interesting for everybody involved. This means that the race will be sort of hidden during our time limmit that will be set to 32hours. When the time limmit is reached the moderators will check the replays and announce the results.
We will drive the new Fiat 124 CC by YorT. To most of you this came as quite a suprise and I am sure that all of you will love the car. It is allready fully compatible with the TT realmod so should not be any problems with the car installation. Best is that you do a normal TT realmod install and than just install hte Fiat124. It replaces the non-FTC Fiat 600 so make sure you dont have any addoncars installed into that spot beforehand.

I'm wondering now are we allowed to practise with this car in some other stages before those 3 runs? And are we allowed to practise this stage with some other car? :wave:

Technicly you are allowed to do a few runs with the car beforehand on some other stage, but it sort of is against the idea of the third run submision. As for practising finn1 with another car-again you can, but it is against the whole idea of the third run.
Usually things like this would be fixed with a tight time limmit, but as we are global the limmit set has to be quite large.
So I suggest that if you are not fammiliar with the track-certanly do a few runs with a different car, but do try the Fiat out only on this track-third run submited.

Replays are necesary. I cant imagine that you cannot save one. If you have your game patched to v1.01 and the realmod installed you deffinilty are able to save replays.
REMEMBER TT REALMOD MUST BE INSTALLED FOR YOU TO BE ABLE TO RACE!

Sorry,but the patch can't be used on my computer.but my first try is 2:58:90 and I had 3 accidents!and the record at the right,it's atBRNo with the kadett who had 36714hp(I gonna purpose it).

and it's not the definitive time!(but the 124is such a difficult car)

anyway TT mod has done for v1.01 physics and there is no point if we all drive with different physics :o

so what's your problem-did you use patch for a game version what you have (i'm guessing syou have france ver.)

the patch is v1.1 french version.the game won't start and said"wrong disc inserted" or "no disc inserted".but my rally trophy isnn't copied(I had it with pcjeux aout2004,and I shearched rally trophy for 2 years!what an occasion!)and the game had a code,same for all,"1*7a-a8..." and I don't say more.

You can try to use the No-cd file option. You will find it here (http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=217).

First install the V1.01 french version and than just replace the RallyTrophy.exe with the new version :wave:

I'm new here and this will be my first race...
I've checked the rules and downloaded the car (TTRealmod2005 installed already), so I guess I'm ready to go (no tires.ini needed for Fiat124?) :cool:

If I end up being 23rd out of 16 competitors, I'm sure I'll invent a huge bunch of excuses... :P

Fiat 124 is one monster (to me, at least) ! Had to take it really careful, both practice-runs ended upside down before 5th turn. I'm sure I couldn't make a decent time with this car even if I tried a thousand times! Unless I give up using keyboard and buy a decent wheel & pedals...

Let's see if anyone can be slower than me :D

Oh yeah, this is truly the 3rd run with this car (1st without crashing, 3rd overall), but I raced an offline competition with a friend of mine on same track - and you won't believe it, but we raced it with the basic Fiat 600 ! :eek:
So the track is familiar to me, Fiat 124 a total stranger...

Great to have you racing with us. You will see that we are racing more for fun than for results-hence all the various types of events. I belive that there is still some room in a new team of racers and I am sure that they would take you in-just check the team gathering thread.

BTW: The results will be announced tommorow evening at around 22:30CET(30 min of checking replays ;) for us mods) so I guess all the regular racers will make their times tommorow afternoon.

And if you need any help with the installation procedures or anything simmilar-feel free to ask. :)

I like this car as well :) The sounds are really really great and the physics are very well done. I like the way the car can be controlled with the throtle so smothly and the way you can take it from terminal understeer with the right throtle responce

3rd run was slower form the start than the second run, but faster in the end as I actually rolled on my second run :OMG:

On my first and second runs I had the suspension in the middle which was fine, but for some strange reason I set it one click harder, which made the car very twitchy and hard to drive, and hence made me quite a bit slower than my previous runs! Don't ask me why I did it, I thought it would make the car more stable going sideways for some reason! :smash:

I had a smash into a tree which lost me some time towards the end, suppose it will teach me for trying to cut too much! :rolleyes:

Look forward to the results later tonight! :)

EDIT: Looking at the file sizes of some of the replays, I think I'll be one of the last! :(

Enough with the joking-how do your new wheel and RT mix? What degrees setting were you using? And is FFB any better now?

well, first i tried 540 deg. like i use in RBR now (when you try this you don't want to put your hands on any other small range wheel becouse unless you drive with hand over hand style is seems childish :did: )

even with that range it was too sensitive in the middle becouse i removed SteeringExponent what i had on 1.2...i thought that more range will "fix" that but it didn't :o i'm sorry to say but FFB is still crap in RT :( (just rumbeling) so i have turned it off completly for 2'nd run and it was to hard to correct the wheel becouse i didn't had centering so i had to turned down the range to around 360 deg. and bring back SteeringExponent to 1.2 :cry: to be able to correct it without sensation of FFB what usuall tells a lot (how much opposite lock aplie in RBR )

btw-i still can't find good FFB settings for GPL :cry:

I'm really pleased that my time was only a little over 5 seconds slower than the 2nd slowest - I was absolutely sure that the gap would be at least 30 seconds :D

Good to hear, that the "NoCd"-patch works. So see you in our next competition soon. And sorry, that your time in connection with the sceenshot doesn't count in the Fin1Race with the Fiat, but rules are rules and we can't do an exeption. Justice for all!

Sorry that you missed it-I should have announced it a week in advance. It is quite hard to keep organised as I have plenty of other things to do. I will try and get more mods to help me keep the races organised. I would love if we could again run weekly races(I just cant do it alone with a bit of help from Ralph)
