Soo I don't really know where to put this thread so feel free to move it around.
After this out of the way i want to ask you gamers what do you use while driving? I mean footwear/clothes/gloves poissibly? I tried to drive with socks on my feet, but they start to hurt after 3/4 laps at ''Nordscleife''. Tried with trainers - feels better, but my feet are getting hot and a bit itchy after some time.
B.T.W.^I said gloves (possibly fingerless?) cause my hands start to sweat and I loose control of ''Ze Weel'' ;-) :?:

sweatpants, t-shirt, white cotton socks and glasses (I remove my contact lenses prior to launching the game, else everything goes 640x480 on me in about 3 minutes of not blinking). Shoes don't allow me to heel/toe as well, bare feet doesn't feel right. Socks are nice happy middle for me.
I'm using Logi G27 and the all leather wheel absorbs hand sweat pretty well, else a quick touch/wipe on the t-shirt or sweatpants does the trick.
my main problem is that I don't have a good gaming chair. My choices are a really uncomfortable folding chair, or a very comfortable PC chair on casters. I used to use the first but now I used the second. Considering the Obutto cockpit for 2012.
I keep water nearby (but not resting on my case ready to tip into my top fan cut-out!). Take a few sips between races.

For big races...
Light t-shirt, shorts, and slippers :P
Possibly gloves when it's REALLY hot, like in the summer !

I sometimes use these.........http://www.thebikefactory.co.uk/img/pds2/thumbs/24104-001-015.jpg.....MTB gloves if it's a long race but I prefer the feeling of driving with bare hands.
On my feet I have some leather driving shoes with very thin soles similar to these ones............http://thegloss.com/files/2007/05/driving_shoes1.jpg
Don't like just socks and most proper shoes don't give you the feeling you need through the pedals, although Adidas Gazelles are pretty decent for driving either in sim or on the road due to a fairly soft sole.

I use these since i bought a G25. My foot hurts if it slips and gets stuck between pedals. These are from a special line of adidas, made in honour of Walter Rohrl.

I wear OMP kart gloves since I changed my default G25 wheel with a "fake" OMP Corsica suede thing ;)

I was going to answer the thread question with "I use all the gears, don't you?"... and then I realized you meant clothing lol

What gear do you use while racing?
Any one that makes the car move in a forward motion.

You never use reverse ?
So if you find yourself in a tricky situation (I.E. Face to wall) you smash through it until it breaks ? :P

Simpson racing shoes. The ball is thin but stiff, and the heel is thicker and rounded. I occasionally wear driving (not racing) gloves, but they make my hands sweat.

bare hands, bare feet
gear for a real car can cost $1,000+ in some cases.
my first goal towards racing for real is to save up money for a really good helmet.

Bare hands on a leathery g25, and holy socks on the (inverted and re-spaced) pedals.
Never been able to drive a real car wearing any type of shoes either.

Bare hands, comfy pants (jeans can get a bit hot on a warmer day). Don't use gloves as I use a G27 n wipe the sweaty palms on the pants. On the feet I have 2 different pairs of puma driving shoes, speed cats and pace cats. But I have used thick socks.

If you remove the casters on your PC chair it makes a huge difference. It enabled me to go from a total ^%$*(&^$ driver to just plain bad :-).

alternate between two pairs of OMP race gloves (Nomex :laugh: ), I use a suede rimmed wheel and do not want it getting all shiny. Socks or Simboots. Tried a few racing shoes but they just did not provide as much feel. Shorts or cargo pants (actually any loose fitting pants)and Tee in summer. A fleece top over tee in winter. Headphones. No helmet... :-P ;-)

Those socks really "full" of cotton, the normal ones hurt. But I'm kinda sucking these days in racing, so I don't know if improving my gear could give me some tenths of second...

You guys are entertaining, thats for sure. Personally I prefer clothes ON it smoothes out the wrinkles/helps with streamlining & helps crash prevention when unexpected spectators appear (prevents sudden laughter or screams).
Got gloves & shoes & leftover racegear, coupla helmets but got to be carefull what others think of mental state, or be quick to say you wore it just for the stir! S'pose I could race with the door locked ,NOTE TO SELF, must fit one.

For me, it's just simple clothes.
Then socks on my feet no shoes and fingerless biking gloves. leather on G25 wheel gets a bit clammy after an hour or so of constant racing.

Forgot when it's really damn hot and the sweat is dripping down my face I use this beast for some much needed relief.
Also simulates wind in open wheel cars!!! :-p

Well I wear shorts too normally and T-shirt  but no gloves (tried them, quite liked them but na, not really needed imo)
No way i could drive sims in trainers, gotta be socks, there`s so much more pedal feel with socks... imo...

Totally worn out black 4 year old 9 dollar Chinese Wal-Mart thin sole laceless lloppers on a G27. Just Porsche perfect as long as they never go outside again. I love my racing shoes.
Old school white 50th Anniversary of Road America golf shirt. No, I do not wear my motorcycle helmet or gloves.
Throwing it around clamped to a cheap card table in front of the TV so I dont need glasses.
No smoking while driving due to self imposed fire hazard.

I would recommend a online contact lenses store which provides contact lenses for less price. I had ordered contact lenses for less price. Found more tips on buying contact lenses, Caring tips, wearing tips online. I had got upto 70% off on buying contact lenses and lots more offers from http://www.contactlensesexpress.co.uk

Hi
I use what I call river shoes the type used at the beach. Light nylon top and a soft gummy sole. They fit nice and close and they do not catch on the peddles at either side. I buy a few pair at a time as the soles ware down relatively fast. I open up my G25 peddles every 6 months and clean out the rubber bits that accumulate in there as a precaution. Cost around $10.00 Canadian a pair. Got to like that. I wear cyclist gloves as they protect my hands and still allow me to mash about on my keyboard. Not that they improve my typing skills at all.

Yes, baseball gloves are great and well vented. These are nice especially if you use force feedback. I usually just wear socks but it can be hard on the arches and heels if you stomp too hard or slip onto the edges. My Puma Millenius shoes are used in my car but another pair of Pumas would be nice for simming!
