Track Request: Bridgehampton Race Circuit

Bridgehampton Race Circuit stood at the pinnacle of American car racing during the golden age of the sport in the 50s and 60s. They called it “The Bridge” and mostly they loved and feared the place. Stirling Moss called it the “most challenging course in America” and routinely it embarrassed world class drivers during the heyday of the Can-Am, Trans-Am and international sports car races.

It was released for GPL and was challenging and good fun.

First track I ever drove oddly enough - the year before they started to convert it into a golf course. Unfortunately I didn't know how famous it was at the time.

The GPL version is very nice. It would be a great track for GTL cars.

What a shame....:-(. The golf course still uses part of the old track as it's perimeter and the main straight appears mostly intact. (GE; + 40°58'48", - 72°20'19")

You don't know the half of it - the track was closed partially due to noise complaints by people who bought property and built houses *after* the track had been there for decades and partially due to rising property values and greed.

All the great drivers raced there -- Mario Andretti drove his first road race there, Stirling Moss, Mark Donahue, Dan Gurney, Richard Petty, A. J. Foyt, Al Unser -- the list goes on and on.
