It is time to race again.
Since this is the first race after the re-birth of NoGrip, we're going to have a short hotlapping event, just for fun.
Car:
RTS013's Volvo 940 -get it here (http://www.bhmotorsports.com/RT/downloads) or here (http://mercurycapri.com/pafiledb/pafiledb.php?action=category&id=1) (you'll need hjsplit to merge parts 1 & 2 together, get it here (http://mercurycapri.com/pafiledb/pafiledb.php?action=category&id=3))
Stage:
Roger's modified Swiss 1 -get it here (http://www.nogripracing.com/filecatdisplay.php?subcatid=6), remember to download and install the tarmac textures too!

We will use the usual RULES.
TT Realmod2005 is mandatory -get it here (http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=671)
The competition starts on Friday 29.7.2005 at 16:00 GMT
The competition will stop on Wednesday 3.8.2005 at 19:00 GMT
You can check the time here (http://www.worldtimezone.com/).

Good luck and have fun! :drive:

I didn't watch your replay but I find that I am rarely full throttle and am using the brakes a lot
that volvo is way too big and fast and really flog the car, and can't even so much as scratch it or you will get stuck on the scenery or be launched into orbit
Although PG will probably prove otherwise and do the whole course without lifting

Good to se NG racing back !
Unfortunately I am finding the 940T impossible to drive - WAY to much power to handle with a keyboard ! It does leave really cool black marks off the startline though
A question - I don't seem to be able to get a "bumper cam" view with this car ? That's the view I usually drive with .....

Practice makes perfect, you are not the only one driving with a k/b ;)
I'm having trouble with the jumps.
Somehow i cannot get them right, and that makes the whole effort worthless because i lose so much time there...

I suck. :)
Wow, I thought I suck! ;)

EDIT: JamesGT, your ride seems a bit restless - try to minimize the steering wheel movement when possible, and you'll be surprised how much your time improves...

Time was Ok, a couple of near misses but amazing..... with a keyboard! Haven't managed to get to the end yet....been within sight of the end and spun it into the trees.
Great car and love the track.

I think you handle the jumps great. There are other places for a small improvement imho, but your mastery over the keyboard never ceases to amaze me

Obviously I know the track very very well. It was my idea to make it tarmac in the first place and even when Roger changed the second part of the track that didnt unsetle me.
Rememberto use tarmac tires guys
I will be making a couple more runs shortly to try and improve.

A minute here or there, who cares :P
Just watched PG's replay. Amazed is an understatement, what a drive! :OMG:
PG, you must be an alien! No human is capable of driving that quick and not putting it off! Well done! :P
I tried this track with my good leg, I could manage it, but never finished, kept getting stuck to the trees! :( You really do need brakes on this track! :smash:

Thanks for the nice comments, you guys are making me blush :o
I am sure that if you guys knew the track as much as I do you would be right up there.
And guys like tjth, ppi and teq would probably beat me by some seconds.
I do love these kinds of roads though
C'mon Pete! I was expecting a 3:3x:xx from you :P
Okay, we're extending the race duration to wednesday 3.8.2005 19:00 GMT, because of some confusion about race ending and low attendance (despite the fact that so many NoGrip longtimers have been lurking around) so far.
My effort...not great
http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/files/Roger_1122844898_Roger_4_24_78.zip
I had a run well under 4mins by the final hairpin, got too excited and rolled it :(
I MAY try again...........
Hmmm...just watched P_G's replay :sherlock:
He can go faster - does anyone DARE beat him?
Awesome! I didn't have time this morning to run some more rounds, but now I do...sweet...

I found the problem with my racing...I should have noticed it right away.
I don't know why, but in every game I play with my Saitek R440 Force it is ULTRA-sensitive. I have to turn the sensitivity in the game to almost 0.
I've done it and I have improved my time by nearly a minute now. I'll hopefully improve a little more and have a replay up either today or tomorrow.

I know where I could do better...I just didn't have enough time or patience to get there. I always got panicky near the end because I didn't want to smash through a tree or fall off a cliff therefore ruining a great run...so I would make it a good run by taking it easy.

I just can't drive this car ..... I can't handle ANY RWD cars with keyboard, let alone one with this much power ! Had 10 attempts an never got even close to finishing the stage ....
It was good fun in the Fulvia though !
Had 10 attempts an never got even close to finishing the stage ....
Heh, I've tried about 50 times now, finished twice...
And I use wheel :OMG:
Same here, I can't count how many times I've tried and failed. Only finished a couple of times with some very lucky rolls which have put me back on the wheels. This is such a challenge enough, without being restricted to using one leg/foot! I don't think I'll post a time, it'll be minutes off the pace! :smash:

I will try again tonight - last night I had 6/7 runs and another blinder (right on target for P_G - Midi zone) but smacked a tree a couple of corners from the end :P
Nice racing everyone, but where are Ralph, vrmx, BlaBla, Volvo142s
I don't really have a system that could run RT at the moment.

Well done everybody  and sorry Midi. You will get me some other race
Time is up, final results in half an hour. Great driving, thanks everybody! :drive:
Damn! Again I had not enough time to drive ONE decent run! :banghead:
About a hundred starts and three finish line crossings, all quick (for me) runs ended in crash :D
Oh well, maybe next time.
JamesGT
3 August 05, 21:00
Woo! Not last!
Same here, only 1 finish line crossing. I did a lot of way faster runs (which could have put me in 3rd or 4th if I kept the same rythm) but I always crashed in the downhill part. :P
In my only finished run, I had to put the reverse gear twice. :smash:
Podium!!!!!!!! :roflmao:
Stunning drives P_G & Midi
I really thought I would nail it last night, but lost my nerve after the last hairpins and wobbled through to a 4:20 - As usual, I might find 4/5 secs - the rest of the gap to you all

Why don't you take part in our races pepe?
Well, don't have time enough and just now I don't really playing games in computer (am I only who have seasons like 1month RT, 2month LFS, 1month nothing, 1month GT4 etc... :P ) I mean I'm don't just right now so interested about RT (when I get RBR I'm interested about it), just right now I'm playing GT4, but when I get the inspiration and try RT again, I start to play it again more.
I'm just like this, I have seasons when I play driving games, when I play 1st person shooters and so on.
Just right now the only program what I use with computer is IE. And I don't have the time exactly, now I'm busy (was that right now? ehm :P ) doing rust-works to sierra before holiday ends.
now I'm horry doing rust-works to sierra before holiday ends.
Careful with that word "horry" again.... :P
