I am finally releasing files from my Powertour British GT 2000-2002 project. It isn't a full mod, merely a few releases of car packs, but I've been set back and delayed so many times I simply wanted to get the files online whenever I could.
For those who don't know about the project, I'll elaborate. The "Powertour" was the name of the British F3/GT race weekends in 2000 and 2001, put together at the time by the BRSCC. It was a wonderful time for the British GT Championship, with the same cars allowed as the FIA GT series, plus the usual weird and wonderful variations we were used to seeing in the national series. Instead of the silly quiet GT3 and GT4 cars of today, we were treated to wonderful big thumping monsters on the track, from the insane TVR Cerbera Speed 12, the gorgeous Lister Storm, huge V8 rumblers like the LM600s and Saleens, and many more.
I wanted to make a mod for these cars, back when GTR1 was released. So I set up the powertour mod, to include the 2000 and 2001 cars along with a few from 2002 as well, the last season before British GT changed forever. Thanks to two hard drive crashes I lost half my work when I was within touching distance of the finish line. What I managed to salvage was eventually released in dribs and drabs for GTR1, but thanks to much more intensive work commitments it has taken me until now to release anything for GTR2.
The release here is a skin pack for the 2002 Graham Nash Motorsport Saleen S7-R cars.
