So excited!!!
Indeed. I hope there are more 60's Porsche's this time around. I like the newer machines of course. But nothing sounds better than a 60's race tuned flat six, flat eight, flat twelve. Heck even the flat fours sound awesome.
isnt the pack basically all the porsches from FM3 and then 7 new ones to the series??

You forgot one :-)
isnt the pack basically all the porsches from FM3 and then 7 new ones to the series??
So they said.
Y'know, as more cars are revealed the mist of wonder and anticipation is clearing:
and I'm realising the vast bulk of this pack is just a Forza 3 port over. If you look
through the hype, not just with Forza, but a lot of things these days, you see it's
just a distraction from the 'rip off factor'. 2400 odd Microsoft points for seven cars:
equate that to 560 points for ten brand spanking new cars every time a monthly
DLC comes out and it starts to look like a load of........
Sure, we're getting 30 cars in this Porsche pack, but I wasn't born yesterday: 23
of these cars were ported through automated systems with the rest of the content
from FM3 and left out of the original, full priced, title because of the licensing issues.
I'm just as dark about spending extra points in FM3 to have the Benchmark Test Track,
and having to spend those extra points again to have the same track in Forza 4.
I'm not spending the money for the Benchmark track, but I will purchase the Porsche
pack, I love the marque, and want them in my game: I just don't need all the BS of
the hype: there's twenty three cars that were already ported and intended to be in
the original release, and seven new cars, and the pack is more than four times the
cost of the monthly DLC. They're grabbing for big wads of cash, nothing more.
Having had my whinge, roll on May 22nd!
Turn 10 should do the right thing and gift the cars held up by the licensing disupte with EA and let users have the 23 porsches for free, and charge them for the 7 NEW cars. It's a sad state of affairs. I am really looking forward to the 962's. Esp the 1988 Shell livery. I'll be getting this pack also.
As I see the cars being announced I'm realing loosing interest fast. I know that there are only 7 new ones, but do we need to waste the seven slots on more 911s? I mean can there really be that much differeance between a 2008 and 2011 GT3? Then they IMO waste the new slots with the SUV and a four door. The last few days will have to bring some good stuff for me to run out and buy it right away. I still might get it the add on event content is worth while, but I'll have to wait for the reviews first.
Erm TICTOC, the pack is 1600points, not 2400..
And for now Major Nelson says it's 1200points..
It will either be 1200 or 1600.. I've no idea where your 2400 is coming from.
Thanks, I'm glad it's cheaper than I thought it was.
It's still only seven new cars for nearly three times
the cost of a monthly DLC pack though.
I'm with gavkiwi, they should gift the twenty three
ported cars.

Turn 10 said from the get go that they would all be Forza3 ports with a few new additions. This was no surprise to anyone.
I'm not complaining over the F3 cars. My point is why waste a "new" car on just a different year of the same darn thing. Give us some more 50s and 60s classics.

Im kinda starting to agree, I'll get the pack and be happy with it, but how many 2007 GT3s did we need.

Does it seem to anyone else that the Porsche GT3 RSR/Cup/[insert letter number designation combination here] is becoming the Nissan Skyline Filler car of the Forza Series, or is it just me.
I like the 911, just like many other Porschephiles but until you include all the cars people really want, it cheapens the thrill of having Porsche in the game with so many clone cookie cutters.
I'd love to have every single Porsche ever made in the game, but why oh why must we only ever get the generic modern cars. Why is it that only Need For Speeds Porsche Unleashed gets the full gambit. It was a crap game anyway. I doubt the PC version was any or much better than the terrible PS1 game.
Porsche need to seperate themselves from EA. I doubt they've sold a single car based on any NFS game. Somebody needs to outbid EA.
We desperately need a game where all the great 50's 60's racing cars can be raced together without needing a mod, and where all the cars drive and sound like their real life counterparts. Why is this so dang hard?
Completely retorical, as any answer to this question will be worthless PR excuses or jargon.
I want these Porsche's in my game, but I grow tired of the same old song and dance from one game developer to the next.
Perhaps we need to declare a new law to govern the world that any and all cars old than 10 years reach a statute of limitations meaning any and all specs and technology are no public property, and can no longer garner any profit for any manufacturer, and must be turned over to the public for unlimited consumption.
Wishfull thinking I suppose. I'm simply tired of greed getting in the way of everything. And so now I'm just venting.
Rant mode off.
I loved NFS PU on PC. Best non-sim racer IMO. I even got it running on Win 7 the other night after posting.

Aah yes, I actually liked this on PC. The graphics were nothing like what we have today, and all the tracks were fake, ala EA, but I thought the physics were solid and I had a lot of fun with this. So much so, that I actually purchased HP 2 to give that a shot.
There was $30.00 I will never get back. It was all downhill after PU.. imho.
