TIP: Pick-up racing

this is not GTL specific...

we all know how hard it is to get a quick race online, whether standard cars and tracks in GTL/GTR2 or a mod in rFactor. Either there is no one racing or only a league race, etc we all have been there.

I would like to report an interesting thing that has happened for about the last month...

Join an empty server, mabey go make a sandwich and come back and do some laps... within 5-15 minutes other pick-up racers will join... and then you have a server that list 2 people now... others see a open server in the list with 2... now 3 etc etc. In rFactor I wanted to play "foo mod" and no one was on any of the 4 servers.. I joined an empty one... 20 minuts and we had 10 good drivers just wanting to cruise with others and have fun.

I encourage everyone to try this during the next week or two for thier sim of choice...

You have to take it into your own hands, I guess people dont join because they see its empty, it only takes one and then it will start filling up as people see the potential.

Why not starting a private test session in stead? No need to go online if you shy away when people pops up.

Or try one of the Gamers-Crib servers. Ive set them up specialy for pick up races. "Short" races 5 laps on GTL and 6 for GTR2, Race07 has 6 laps set when its up.
Server are 90% monitored by admins.
We have new and improved tool to watch over the people that are not wanted.
Not garanteed clean but idiots will be booted and banned......

Also (yes another shameless plug coming up), on friday 21:00AMS / 20:00UK there's the GC add-on server.
Race the best add-on tracks online, a fresh snuff of tarmac after 2 years and more of Anderstorp.
Trackpack can be downloaded on GC, new trackpack coming which will probably last a year like the last one (so no weekly download).

Currently some add-on cars (wide-arch and 1310 Mini), more to come (250 SWB, Aston, TR4... the LOT!), which will be in a carpack. No, that will be ONE download and no weekly updates!

BTW: the download also makes people behave... if they are idiots they get booted and banned - and then they have done the download for zilch... it's a selection of the best tracks in GTL anyway, so come along and have a race!
