I was reading something on RSC and it seems that most people like to use headphone when playing something on PC....
And i remember vrmx topic 'systwem listing time' so i thought it would be interesting to have similar stuff and know what you use for your favourite game ...
or a sim ;)
One of my co-workers just bought the Z-5550 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2177,CONTENTID=9486) speaker set, said that they blew his mind. :) Problem is, he lives in an apartment and has never turned it up past 1/4 volume. :OMG:
i live in apartment and i think that i don't lie when i speak for my neigbours...
they hate me :o

Well I use a basic radio-speaker system->cable from the comp sound exit into my Compact audio system and that is that. The radio has two speakers so I have it sitting on my table next to the monitor with a speaker on each side of the monitor.
I quite like the configuration- it is nothing special at all, but I also dont demand much :P

4:1 Cambridge Soundworks. The satellite speakers are around me, +/- 75 cm from my ears. More then loud enough.
And yes, neighbors are a nuisance

I voted for headphones, they're currently the primary audio output device from my computer. But I've also built a pair of passive speakers around old car-speakers: Pioneer TS-G1030 10cm dual-cone 10/50 watts (nominal/maximum) output, 4 ohms impedance assembled in a self-made bass-reflex case and equipped with very rudimentary (surprisingly effective) magnetic shielding. The volume levels I get from these speakers straight from soundcard, NO amplificaton whatsoever (soundcard output maybe 4 watts max total), never ceases to amaze me  I hook up the speakers when I'm alone :D

it's nice when you don't demand much...
but now i feel like some crazy weirdo becouse i doo :dood:
when i'm in the mood i like to use surround for my games (when i have some combo with Kenwood reciver, older system with NAD C320 amp and Kef Cresta 2 speakers + one central from same serie like fronts) but most of the time i use basic stereo ( :blah: ) + sub
ok, approx. 2400 Eur for those basic 3 things (amp, speakers, sub) it's far from modest audio system and it's pretty big overkill for crappy audio out from my m/b but when it comes about game sounds I'm satisfied too :D and i just can't imagine that sound from Corvette in GTL without sub ;)
Rotel RA - 1070 (http://europe.rotel.com/products/specs/ra1070.htm) (2x 100w/8 Ohm ) Int. amp
Kef Q 5 (http://www.kef.com/products/qseries/qseries5.asp) (2x150w/8 ohm ) speakers
Rogers ASB-120 (http://www.rogers.com.hk/ENG/spec-ASB120.php) 120w active sub
btw, I would like to have some better stuff but I don't have big ,decent room for it and most important I'm far for rich and this is not a cheap hobby

Just right now, I'm using just normal 2.0-soap-boxes :D (they do the thing, what they should do).
But I'm maybe going to buy Logitech's 4.1 from my friend. :)

I have some Altec Lansing speakers 6 of them. Sound is Ok for me.....currently providing me with Handel's "Solomon" and a very tranquil state of mind while I'm trying to work (working or posting @ No_Grip :sherlock: )

After i know what most of the normal people use i feel a bit crazy :o and Roger,I'm shure you would feel the same if you would use your Alpine for some crazy/stupid purpose like tow of another car or something like that :P
but thinking about it gives me confort
I'm shure you will give your last money to fix that broken headlight so that your Alpine can be perfect,
i bet pepe will give his last money to get rid of all that rust under his Sierra  (or for some 'body kit' ;) )
and maybe vrmx or Dan will give all for some new memory or graphics card so that they can have a faster comp.
so thinking like that when everybody have his 'poison' I'm more normal then you guys :roflmao:
my m/b is killing me with some problems :banghead: but i will always buy some new better peace of wire for my speakers before a new m/b :)

Hoping to save for these by the time I wear out my current tires. I already have the new tires to fit them. :D
Most of the time I use Altec Lansing 2.1 (stereo with subwoofer) pc speakers, but I also have a connection to my Pioneer 5.1 hi-fi with Infinity speakers, when there is no one to complain. :D

Using a Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Theater 5.1 system, has the digital decoder and everything. Not a whole lot of volume, but anything more than 1/2 way is too loud for every day use. :) :D I bought it, the speakers, and a SB Live 5.1 card all used from a friend for $100. :D I usually turn it up a bit with RBR as it's a LOUD game anyway, and I installed one of the engine sound mods and it really sounds great, almost like you are there. My only neighbor is 96 years old and she doesnt hear too well. Good for me because I make a lot of noise, with games, music, (both listening and playing, guitar and horn) and with my VW down in the garage. (mostly cussing and throwing tools.) :P
I dont plan on upgrading my PC sound system anytime soon, but the PC itself will be getting an upgrade here before too long.

Actually my decoder has an input for digital and an input for analog. If you are playing something in non-surround, the amp decodes the analog signal into a digital 5.1 signal. It's Dolby-ready so when you are playing a Dolby-enabled game (or DVD, or whatever) the little digital light comes on and you're off. :D Very handy.

Youre always exepting funny things about me, cause I'm just the youngest. :blah:
1. There's no rust on under in this one, only in the body (doors and some little what only about I see :D )
2. I have bought the ''body kit'' already and don't say body kit, it sounds like some ufo thing to new tuning car, just the RS Cosworth parts (little scoops are missing).
And now I have to wait over the winter, before I buy anything new onto it (no warm garage  ). And in next summer I'm going to summer works again, so it's going to be hard spent all this. And oh, I get the 4.1 with under 30€. And if things go well, I'm going to get own computer before christmas. :P
I have spoken. :o
