Race time information (all times quoted are UK time)
Practice: The server will be up all day!
Qualifying: 19:30 UK time - 15 minute session
Race (no warm up) : 42 laps (inclusive of the rolling formation lap)

*NEW START PROCEDURE*

The race will have a rolling start. The pole position car will lead the field around the formation lap (effectively becoming the safety car) at a consistent and steady pace. Do not make sudden weaving movements or brake/accelerate hard during the lap. If you spin out on the formation lap, rejoin at the back of the field, do not try to reclaim your position.

On approach to the start finish line at the end of the lap the field should be in single file and in order of qualifying position. The lead car will maintain its speed until it crosses the start finish line at which point the race is underway. There is to be no overtaking prior to the lead car crossing the line at the end of the first lap.


Driving aids: Auto clutch & gears allowed
Auto pit: Please turn this option off. If you need help pitting manually ask on the forum.
You must set your game difficulty to simulation to be able to join the server.

if its only skins you can just have them in your own install, no need for anyone else to have them.

I am happy for the skins to be added to the server. I have been away last week and tbh forgot to bring it up and ask for them to be added, sorry.

If they are added we need to make sure everyone downloads them to avoid other problems on race day. Maybe JJC knows the simplest way to add them without unnecessary hassle?

Ok, as it seems that a couple of people took over this league that have to put their own rules on a league where they are actually just guests who are participating, I withdraw from NG league. Can't say it came as a surprise to be honest.

I had some good battles and races with enjoyable people, but the moment people HAVE to put THEIR rules cause they make REAL LIFE MONEY with their skins I have to stay to my principle and just back out of it all. I just hope I can see one of you guys in other leagues where it's just about fun and not money, cause it's a game after all right?

I have sites i would like to promote but stick to official NGR channels rather than invading the league with other guys from my site and demanding (for no apparent or justified reason) everyone run a custom skinpack just so i can get my exposure. But i guess i have more respect for this league than some people. Cause where does it end now the can of worms is open? Actual wtf. Wouldn't be surprised if this lot pissed off again once the event they are advertising on their skins passes, cause it's now obvious what is going on.

I love skinning and seeing what people do with custom skins, FOR FUN, but this is all a bit stupid.

But everyone else, i had good races with especially that race at Jarama in the 911's, and hopefully race with some of you guys in the future.

We are not here to invade or take over "your" league, but to race and have fun on track, but where I come from it's ok to have custom skins, and I specific asked if it was possible, pre-season 5 start.
If it makes that much noise, don't use them..... And for the record, it has nothing to do with money, but someone actualy care to promote simracing worldwide... We all have a "real life" and don't live of racing...... It's just a passion.....

It's not out of respect, we ask for custom skins, but to make the cars more unique. I can say that it has never been my or others intension to dis-respect your league, by adding extra skins, but only to get a more real life feeling, to the races....
There is no money involved, and I would be happy to have answered that question. I race just like you, for fun.....

hello,

i do not know what is problem if any drivers (think any danish driver which do make the 24h races) have own skin.
in many many league people make own skins for race.
and if a driver then is sponsored by someone that his sponsor name is in skin, then it is very good thing.
i do not know what they become, perhaps a free wheel, or a racing seat or, or, or whatever,
but i would be happy if someone whould sponsor me if i did use a skin with sponsor name.

we should be happy that this do happen in simracing.

nogrip league is for sure not a league where they become sponsor because of better image if they drive and perhaps win a title in this league, this is only a fun league where not much interest for sponsor is.
in i racing it is a other thing, where drivers can earn many money and they practise (for sure) any thousends hours for perhaps 15 races in 1 year, this is where it will kill the fun for normal drivers, but here only fun, quick jump in server and drive.
i know that if jayblue did make a realy practise, like he did any years ago in GTR2 his result would be much much better, so he do drive only for quick fun too, so for many in this league, only quick practise and then jump to race.
this is same if any driver have a sponsor or nobody have sponsor.

i hope nogrip league do not loose people only of this sponsor thing.

i do hope i can drive in future races here again, but protothing cars i do realy not like.

so we should drive together and not stop racing only about this sponsor thing, which is a good thing i think.

You all know i try to keep as many people as possible happy with the rules and the way the league is run - i have no desire to loose founder members of the league over something like this, or for that matter our newer members either.

As several of you expressed either privately or now publicly that the custom skins are for whatever reasons going to cause issues i would like to put this thing to bed once and for all -

We will leave the car pack as it was prior to this race. There will be no custom skins added - sorry to the guys who have prepared them and their associated sponsors. For those who have stated that they want to withdraw from the league i will understand if you do but i hope that you don't. I did not foresee this becoming such a sticking point and did not realise that several members felt so strongly over the subject. Anyone who wishes to discuss this further please do so via PM and not in the pre race chat, and sorry to JJC who has probably already spent time (now wasted) repacking the car pack.

Also guys please make sure you can connect to the server via this method prior to the race tomorrow, ask suggested by Kim :thumbup:

How to connect :

1. Go to your GTR2 directory.
2. Find the following file: LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT
3. Open that file and replace what is in there with gtr2lobby.bier-buden.de - You may want to back up the original txt file or rename it old.
4. Start GTR2
5. Select internet then at the top click register to register a new account
6. After you registered with your new account, you should now be able to join the lobby with your new login.

It is strongly advisable to do this well in advance of the race.

It is difficult to do the best thing for everyone in the league and i don't want to upset anyone, so i guess a certain amount of flexibility and balancing is required to try to do the best possible job of things.

Weight ballast for the race will be added tomorrow. I only just got into the lobby because i needed to register with a new online name due to a well known bug in the multiplayer registration. I was hoping to be able to use my old nick name but i couldn't get it to work.

As a result i don't yet have the server god status i need to add or take away weight ballast.

It was not nice to see the manner in which the skins debate over spilled into the pre race chat this week and i think we can all learn from it. The forum should be a place to express opinion in a respectful manner. Address the issue only and do not direct personal remarks at other league members. In light of some of the posts made in this thread i would just like to remind everyone of league rule #6.

"Having an argument via game chat or in the forums is not acceptable. Public name calling may result in a forum infraction or ban. If you want to make a point on the forum please be tactful and always address your racing colleagues with respect in a non aggressive tone. If you have a problem with a drivers behaviour either in the forums or in the server make a complaint via PM rather than posting in the forum for all to see."

If we all follow this rule it will make the forum a friendlier place and keep disputes to a minimum, even when strong opinions are involved. Thanks everyone :thumbup:

First my apologies for that Audi and Zytek that I had contact. My framerate dropped to almost nothing so the car's where jumping from point to another. Had same problem 3 times during the race????:crying:

Well did first laps here on this mod just before the race and was using default setup (well wing's and gears done) since no time or know how to do them. On that point good race. Got the 3th place from Quake as a gift at the end.

Hope to find some practice time for the next race.

As expected, my Aston Martin prototype was a lot slower then the diesels and I actually managed to let Verce pass after a stupid mistake a I made.

All in all, it was still an enjoyable race, I tried to make sure that everyone who was faster then me pass with flashing lights, the only hick up I had was with Stanton who first lapped me, but then all of a sudden couldn't pass beyond 4th gear, so I passed again. Didn't see him afterwards.

and oh yes, I hit a Zytek at the start cause it all of a sudden went to a dead stop...

Great race with good pace :) I was 30kg. short on extra weight so I forced a stop'n'go, starting before green, to compensate for that, hope it's ok with all ;) lost about 45 sec.

From there it was just to keep the car on road and go fast :) I had lots of framedrops when overtaking and think I accidently bumped into fromgehenna when passing, sorry for that..... Hope I didn't do any damage....

All in all, a great race for me.

Grats to other podiums, and everyone else for finishing race on this crasy track ;)
And thanks for making room.... That's admirable.. :)

Fantastic race for me. With the succes ballast (55kg) I just couldn't match the quickest guys on this track in the qualify session - not even close actually.

But I had quite a bit of luck in the beginning of the race. Peter Munkholm disconnected at race start, and left me in 4. place. Henrik Hoier and Quake went of in the second corner, leaving me in 2. place. And then Nikolaj Pedersen pulled in for his "planned" stop 'n' go, putting me in the lead. :D
And then I just stayed there. Stability really is the key to victory on this crazy circuit :)

Thanks for another good race - it was great fun. And thanks to all the guys that let my get by so easily, it really keeps it fair and safe for everyone, so thanks!

Hope to see you and even more people at the next race
(even though i will probably get my ass wooped, with the 95kg ballast)

So I was not the only one having frame problems?? Maby the track/car sombination or something else on netcode of the game?? Most of the time it was ok to drive close to another car but I had 3....4 times that the framerate dropped. Also it dropped 2 times when I was alone.

No wories Dane..... I was expecting you to go left but you stayed right.

I'm still quite lost with these car's. Also the Zytek is dead slow and down on power but at least it's easy to drive. And it sounds like a race car unlike the diesel abominations. I have to put "other car" volume to 15% cauce of them:mrgreen:

Sorry about that, i set your weight ballast in the afternoon using the name indicated in the race results (with capital letters on first and second name)

Obviously it didn't work (you should have had 30kg for second place) I hope it didn't mess up your race, in any case it was my mistake.

We are appointing two more server gods so that there will always be someone on the server able to make changes if things are not set correctly prior to the race for any reason.

After a few weeks of entertaining people on a Saturday night i am making sure next Saturday is free for me to race and hopefully get back into the championship running.

Well - I came close this time - Competed in Qualifying and 2 mins before the race I had a power blackout - just ridiculous!! On the plus side I won both of my iRacing races beforehand!

Perhaps it was the universes way of saying don't race - because I was very under-prepared for this race and probably would've just been an annoyance.

I'll prepare well for Donington and hopefully get to the Green flag, let alone the chequered flag! haha.

4th place for me, after qualifying in 8th.

I was so slow on my no-stop strategy with the medium tyres I was frightened into making a strategy changed based on the laps I saw Kim do on Saturday morning while practicing. I was hoping others were one-stopping but it would appear the only one was me! It was a great run for me though, I raced on a full tank so only had to change the tyres at the stop. My laps were pretty consistent and I was so surprised to get up to 2nd early in the race.

I couldn't hold onto it and had 3rd and 4th right on me at my stop. I came out in 6th, quickly made it to 5th and chased as hard as I could for 4th. The gap was over 20 seconds so not much hope. Until, about 5 laps to go the 4th placed man made a mistake and damaged his car quite badly. This was my chance to seize the position. I made he pass on the penultimate lap around the outside through the esses. So a happy result in the end, I really need to practice and come up with some setup wizardry to make this car a race winner. I imagine that is beyond my simracing capabilities at the moment, so I can't set my sights on winning this championship. It's alot of fun anyway, so see you all at Donington :)
