just being trying the new demos with my new computer (GTR, GTL and RBR in that order) and...
.
.
.
RBR is the clear winner
where can I buy the CD from Canada? its not listed on Amazon and I am leery of eBay

The GT games might have good graphics and physics and such, but I find the original GP Legends more fun. I think I need the ragged edge of control really exaggerated in a sim to make up for the lack of "seat of the pants" feel. The GT tracks are kind of boring.

I haven't had a chance to look at all the mods for RBR. Are there any completely new tracks yet? I haven't seen anything in my brief search that RWD is available for RBR - will RWD never happen? Oh well RWD and classic cars will keep me coming back to RT for a while longer

I'm in Canada too, you're only choice really is Ebay. It basically isn't carried in retail here, and I've tried most places (EBgames, Best Buy, Future Shop etc) looking for the past 6 months.

If you buy from a reputable seller online there should be no problems. I buy 90 % of my software now on Ebay, you can save alot of money and time. If you're buying the DVD version of RBR better that you get it from a seller in the US as the British version may be problematic.

As far as I know RWD in RBR is problematic, because apparently you can't do stuff like add a handrake to the rear axle etc. Judging by how long the sims been out now and the slow pace of classic car mods, I'm not sure we would see any classic rally cars anytime soon, if ever. Also if the add ons just become a load of abandoned, unfinished projects like some of the RT stuff has become thats no good either.

IMHO a sim like RT would be a prime candidate for a payware superpatch getting all the cars updated and including many news ones like the Hillman Imp, the Skodas, the Renault 8 and 12 and many others. Coupled with all new tracks of proper rally length. If these cars could be finished and polished in a professional package, along with major sound and graphics revamping, I'm sure it would sell.

I don't really get why BugBear or Jowood are not seizing this opportunity. If you play any flight simulators, this market is completely being dominated by major upgrading of old games, Falcon 4.0 and Battle of Britain 2: Wings of Victory are two very recent examples of old games being given major reworkings and released again. When I think about it RT is the the only 4 year old game (with the exception of GPL) that has stayed on my harddrive and been played regularly, in this I'm sure I'm not alone. It does speak volumes though about the quality of RT and the attraction of rallying in great cars.

Agree with you about GT legends, the tracks are exceptionally boring. I think I'll wait for it to become cheap as I'll only be buying it for the Cortina, Mini, Escort and Capri.

How's that?
PC media should be universal and DVD PC games don't have regions like DVD films.

I completely agree with you Lethal,

I have wondered why I don't appreciate these new sims
as much as GPL and RT, perhaps it's the ISI engine or
perhaps the old cars gives a certain atmosphere.

Anyway GPL and RT gives me the perfect combination of
good physics and vintage atmosphere.

(And I also agree, the GT tracks are boring)

Well I'm no expert so you could be right. I was told by an online seller in the UK that DVD games are regionalized. Perhaps they were incorrect. If it is the case that PC media is universal, then that would be welcome news.
