I bought a momo steering wheel and I love it. Keyboard is not used anymore.

It works fine in terms of accelerating, braking a gears. At the moment I am using the stick for gears rather then the paddles. What I want to do is configure the paddles for first and second gear, so I can brake into hairpins and chicanes and shift straight into second without having to do four downshifts on the stick.

I know how to config the wheel, thats easy, but what happens when I go on track is I CAN'T DO IT. I go into a hairpin and press the button for second, nothing happens. I try it taking my foot off the brakes and even stopping but I can't go down from sixth to second in one shift with the paddles.

Is there any way of being able to do it without using the red buttons as they are full with clutch, limiter, lights, brakes and neutral??

no... only with an h-shifter that can be done...

Black momo?

It should be possible.
In GTR2 you can configure buttons for sequential shifts and for direct shifts simultaneously.
They would have to be different buttons of course.

What happens when you try to shift with the paddles?

GTR2 has an option titled 'hold button for gear'.
When this is on you must keep the button for a direct shift held down as long as you want to stay in that gear and releasing the button will switch it to neutral.
This does not apply to sequential shifts.
If it is off you will stay in the gear until you select another gear. (direct or sequential)

In the control setup, set shift up/down with the stick, then go to the last section, i think it is accessories, and set 1st gear and 2nd gear with the paddles.
