stuttering stopped

I did something as an experiment to see if it would do anything to the performance of the game. I deleted my player file and I will be damned if when I rebooted and entered new player name the game raced with no stuttering. A fluke? I dont know, but I am glad that it isn't stuttering now.

You need to expand a little more on that :)

I assume you're running the same in-game settings as with your previous player profile?
Did you have any .PLR file tweaks in your previous profile?

well it is stuttering again so that isnt an answer Redi, but I just simply deleted the .plr file and I dont think I had any tweaks.

Do you have a dual or hyperthreaded processor?

If so, alt-tab to the desktop, open your task manager, click on the processes tab, find GTR2.exe, right click and select affinity, make sure BOTH processors are selected.

I had this same stuttering and it was due to a set of poor video drivers.
I updated to a beta set and the problem was solved.
I'm now on the new drivers "came out yesterday" And all is smooth.

Thats if your using a NV card anyway.

Well I got some experimental driver from a tweaking website and all I can say is WOW. I went from driving at 800x600 to 1400x900 with anti aliasing and there is no stuttering at all. Absolutely incredible is all I can describe about what it looks like.

www.tweakforce.com The game is now like I have gone from a 29" RCA to a 42" LG HD LCD in the difference of how it looks. I run full fields at Spa at full ingame details at 1400x900 and have no stuttering. And guys my computer isnt that good for games it is a laptop with 2.0 duo processor, 2gb ram, Nvidia Geforce Go 7900gs w/512mb. GTR2 looks incredible now. WSGT cars were like watching it on TV. Even the Champcar mod with 42 cars ran smooth. It is absolutely amazing what someone can do with drivers when they have knowledge.
