Also looking for a New Video Card

I am getting a new system and my choices are now down to two cards ( it is what is offered) a ATI Radeon X 600 or a Nvida G Force 6800. The Nvida being the more expensive, both cards are 256 memory. Is there a noticable difference? If any one has any suggestions as to which might be the better card It would be appreciated.

Thanks for the link, I took a look around and got some figures and this was also enough to set me off on a couple of searches myself. There is such a overwhelming aray of choices that it is hard to pick out just one that will be both efficient and not gold plated with out the performance.

DONT DO IT.


Just buy a high end card and you will save money in the end. Wait a month collect some money and buy something like a 7800 ;) It will last you 2 years.

I bought an 850PE in the summer, it was a lot of money but I am happy, since I can still max out 90% of the games.
