Dx9 anyone?

I just got the game here in the states and have to say that it's great fun to play. Graphics are a bit on the "hog" side as far as using resources, and even though Shaders are set to Auto, it chugs a little bit on certain tracks. I have most items set to High and usually get 30-65fps depending on the location. I can see that the game is switching out between Dx8 and 9, and would love to see it in full Dx9 mode.

I was curious as to whether or not anyone is running this game in full Dx9 mode, and if so, what your specs and fps are? Thanks.

You shouldnt have a problem running it in DX9


Half the world runs it in DX9 and Im part of it. ;)

hmm.. I'm wondering how you can see its swapping between dx8 and dx9 settings? I thought that on auto it selects the mode your card best supports, not swapping between them during the game

I did some testing a while ago, and found that setting shaders to dx8 gave me a 20fps boost over the auto or dx9 setting... I play with it on auto now, and get minimum 70fps @ 1600x1200 with 4xAA / 8xAF.. I might replace this 7800GT though as its BS AF is starting to annoy me

Careful of your detail settings, especially keep shadows to medium or lower... even with your system.

Sorry I didn't clarify what I was saying, but the game doesn't swap out between the 2 modes within a given individual race, but rather it seems to change from race to race. One race will look more Dx9 and the next race at a different track may be more graphically intense and drops down to Dx8. Or maybe I'm just seeing things. :confused::
