Hi there! As posted on Gamers-Crib as well, I have come up with a format for the add-on server,
on which we will have add-on races. It means the following rules will be set-up, please your thoughts about it.
- Any add-on car, and any add-on track from the tracklist and carpack.
- Friday fun-night we'll race the tracks for the league - you may use this as practise night.
- On league-night, we'll have the same tracks...
- You'll be able to use ANY car... but the SAME car on all tracks... or lose points.
Only points scored with last car will count.
- You are not required to race all races - free for all - but no race, no points...
- However, at the end of season, 5 worst nights will be 'deleted'. So you can miss 5 nights and not suffer... (:-( if your PC goes bust...)- Of course the track committy will select... the worst track combos  (damn there goes that Elan...)
- No way you'll be fastest on all tracks that night in one car , :mrgreen:we'll pick some 'great combos'
- Furthermore, a 'points selection' system will be in place, based on category cars.
- This means even 'beginners' can take a fast car and enjoy a close race, but if you really want to score points... take a slower one... but you have to be GOOD.
Cat 1: the fastest... but only scoring 70% points
- Elan, Cobra, LeMans Cobra, Ferrari 275, Corvette....
Cat 2: fast, but hard to control or not-so-fast, 80% points- Ferrari 250 SWB, Merc, E-type, Shelby Supersnake... some coming (Charger and Plymouth, I expect to fall into this category)
CAT 3: Middle-of-the-road, GTC-65 and fastest TC-65, 90% points
- 1310 Mini, Abarth TCR, Elite 1600 'BeepBeep2 ', Alfa GTV, Escort Mexico, GT350, GT500, Falcon RS, MiniSprint (no KAD engine)
CAT 4: TC-65 and slower GTC-65 cars, 100% points
- Alfa, Falcon, Mustang, Cortina, Elite, Alpine, Jag 4.2, Mini CooperS, Gordini TS
Cat 5: slowest TC-65 cars, 110% points
- Abarth, Jag Mk2
We will race 3-5 tracks in one night, with 15 min qualy and 7 laps (maybe 10), which will take about 1.5 to 2 hours approximately. Part of the fun will be that nobody will know the tracks very well. I'll post the tracks a week before on a sunday, so you will have time to practise. But not a lot.
The league season will last untill next summer holiday. We'll stop by on all the add-on tracks, some several times.
Required will be:
- a sporty attitude, no bumps/nudges/stupid driving;
- if you find that your car is too fast/slow... try a different one... try close racing!
I have yet do find out a points-system (first place=10 points?). And I'll need the server replays, as my PC is not powerful enough to keep it all in. Or somebody with a great mind for numbers, but if nobody volunteers I'll do the score-keeping (oh hell! My poor brain! :crying:).
I hope we all get some good close races, if you are too slow try the fastest car YOU CAN MANAGE. If you have to try too hard, it is too easy to make mistakes. Better have a faster car, and ENJOY the races. I know I like to chase Moggets Mustang in a 1301 or TCR. He's a much better driver than me, but it's still fun. When he drives a Mustang I can keep up in a 1310. This means, if we'd finish equal he'll still have more points (which is right IMO). But we'd probably be close with Jurmu driving an Alpine... and some aliens driving an Abarth!
Your opinions please...
BTW - we'll do some 'out-and-home' matches, most likely with GVRC/Ly-racing.
They might have sam-sort-but-slightly-ddifferent-rules, we'll try match them.
Any points scored at 'theirs' will also count in 'ours'.
