We've been runnig a few GTL servers via Hamatchi and successfully raced while 10Tacle servers are down!

Using this does work, it works as a Lan game.
Positive side is u don't need a game on line code to join.
Negative u can not use a dedicated server so only 16 cars can race,
all so no lobby to advertise game.

dl hamachi and set it up.
u need your IP to give to fellow races go here

set up a Lan game
joiners
put your hosts IP into hamachi and connect
start GTL
muliplayer click Lan game
the game will show up here then join
I have used this and it worked fine even with m8's with out online codes
Maybe we could find a way of all getting together using this if the lobby stays down.
