tell us what you think :)

I only had time for a couple of laps so far myself, what with sorting the torrent out etc, but I think it has potential

FPS are about the same as GTL(original tracks) for me ATM, maybe that will change when I mess with the settings some more, but its promising for the full game

je l'ai essayée,et elle est fantastique!!!!but we see that there is not tout les modes, and the mode 24 heures parait intéréssant!

but there is not a lot of changes from GTR.,but very améliorations!and the graphics are accurates!but the réalisms seems more tolerant!

He was only writing the English translation next to it!

Cut the crap means 'eviter la merde!'
I've just finished my French GCSE, here's a translation:
I found the demo to be fantastic, but there aren't enough game modes. We need a 24 hour race, that would be very interesting.

There aren't alot of changes since GTR, but some improvements. The graphics are accurate but their is less realism to make it more user friendly and playable.

Hope that helps!

Felix :)

'eviter la merde!'that has more meaning for me [=ça a plus de sens pour moi!]

thanks to translate!

Well i shure hope and belive that the full game will be better. The graphics and physics is ok, but the sound...omg i hope its better in the full game version. To be honest i whas hoping for an improved GTR, but sadly i think this is something they make knowing that all GTR fans "me included" will buy it no mather what. I hope im wrong and i have made that mistake before playing other Demos for other games. Hope im wery wrong. :(

u are right!

i've been so happy to finally be able to download the demo... and playing gtr and gtl so many (many) hours - what would gtr2 be like?
well, imo it's much too easy : even in simulation mode and without any aids (the normal driving mode for a simulation) the cars have so much grip. i never drove a ferrari or lamborghini in real live but compared to gtr it is an arcade-like driving, you can do more mistakes without consequences and it is much easier to "catch" the car.
the driving view within the car is a little bit strange for me too. please don't hurt me ;) but it seems that i do not move on the track but the track is moving around me. perhaps it's because you only see the cockpit and not the bonnet/hood or the drivers head doesn't move like in gtr/gtl.

of course it is very easy to beef/bleat... but i'm very disappointed :(
there are many improvements in the game and i hope the full game (the car sounds included) will be better.

p.s. sorry for my english

I have heard that this gtr2 demo has something like semi-pro physics, wich means different tire physics, mor grip and maybe some tc and abc too. Even if you put them off from the menu.

Hi guys. Well, I have had a ball on the new GTR2 Demo. Did a 10% race today offline of course around Barcellona, and I think GTR2 is not so much a giant leap forward, but a real refinement. It is much better graphically, smoother and higher frame rates by about 5 to 10%, plus les jaggy.

The Lambo is just fab, and even though I only could manage a 1:40.55 and the AI were running as quick as 1:38s, it felt just right - not being able to beat the AI at 100% is how a sim should be. I could not beat Dale Jr. in real life, why should I be able to on a computer sim for example?

Can not wait till the full version. I am in and will buy.

Mike :) :) :cool::

I have to agree with andis2. Too much grip for the amount of HP. Most of the finesse required in GTR is missing, and with it the feeling of driving on the edge in a powerful GT car. Is it realistic? I don't know, but the "thrill" sensation seems largely absent. That said, after driving around with all the aids turned off for a while, as I backed out of the game I noticed that it indicated I was in novice mode(!?). Did that have anything to do with my perception of the difficulty level (i.e., more forgiving physics?). I hope Midi is correct about the physics thing. Maybe more investigation is in order...Also, the graphics appeared to be more in keeping with GTR than GTL, to me. Can this be? I was so prepared to be blown away, but it didn't happen. In spite of this, I am sure I will get the game when it becomes available because...well, multiplayer should have good, close racing, especially with a realistic damage model.

Well...:o I guess this goes in the category of "can't believe much of what you read..." Pay no attention to my previous post! Apparently, I WAS driving in novice mode, and all the settings I thought I had were not in effect. Chalk it up to unfamiliarity with the new menus and some balky buttons (or maybe just stupidity), but after some poking around I managed to actually get in simulation mode and have all my choices stick, resulting in a driving experience much the same as GTR, not the arcade-like stuff I described before. There may yet be more forgiveness in the grip such that the chance of a spin is less, but it would be slight (more realistic?). In any case, it is more what I was expecting the game would be like.

Graphically, I supppose the resemblance is closer to GTL than I at first thought, but then GTR was better than I remembered when I went back to it after playing GTL for a while. They both look good.

Anyway, my enthusiastic anticipation for what the game will be has returned. This should be a winner.

Plus, I like that music:up:. I can see spending lots of time with this game;)

Oh ... i didn't drive the demo since my last post. I'm sure that it was simulation (because i couldn't activate any aids while driving) but I will check, if i was driving in novice mode too. ;) if so, sorry to complain about the (arcade like) driving experience : ;)

@Mikec87 you're right, the frame rates are very good! i can drive with full details.

I have mixed feelings about the GTR2 demo, both positive and negative.

On the negative side, I think the developers gave us a track that was bland, and then the compressed the graphics for max speed. < Before any say... what's bad about that? I wish developers would have included the full game graphics we can expect in the sim so we'd have a better idea how it will run with the "eye candy" turned up. Wouldn't be bad if they tweaked all the tracks as in the demo for folks with less than adequate systems, rather than the usual "turn off stuff until the game will run" mode in previous full games....>

The good/bad is the physics. The GTR1 physics did not represent "real life" in the low speed situations. GTL was much improved and IMO the best available in any SIM which atrtempts to represent real life cars/series.

What is odd, to me, in the demo... is the difficult to "defeat" understeer which really seems to mimic "active handling" ABS/TCS used in many 1:1 street vehicles. Even when dialing in obvious oversteer, there's a moment of understeer, unless one attempts to make a totally undrivable setup that doesn't track or turn... HOPING HERE that this is something which will be removed! I'm somewhat concerned as the physics for the demo cars carries straight over to GTL if the cars are copied and installed appropriately into the tracks and setting there.

MAKE NO MISTAKE, that I believe it's "better" than GTR but not the great feel I hoped for after GTL's improvements. The new engine made possible better feel and more realism. GTL proves that to me. GTL has wide and distinct driving "feel" between models built in and thus available. GTR2 is close, but far enough away to concern me.

I will buy the sim when it comes out. I do hope there is a more tweaked tire model already destined for the release.. or that some compromised physics will be deleted for the full release. I think we are "close but no cigar" here.

GT cars are not as hard to drive as GTR would lead folks to believe. GT cars are not as "abuse friendly" as GTR2 demo seems to suggest.

Hey.. it's just one guy's short take on this stuff.;)

I've driven a few laps of Barcelona and set the start to various times during the day. The graphics are fantastic and the night time thankfully is darker and the headlights brighter than GTR. From what I've read so far the old problem of loading day, dusk, night and dawn has been resolved and there is a realisting change in the lighting as opposed to the stop, load, restart situation that's in the original. That alone will make the purchase worthwhile.

I dont like it. Physics just dont cut it. Pre apex throttle mashing with no drama is not right in anything besides a go kart.

If the physics stay my money stays in my pocket.

Hi,

I really like gtr2,The Ai is alot better now but iam a bit concerned about how the GT1 cars will be with the GT2 cars as in GTR there was nothing worse than having a top race until you start to lap the slower cars and an Ai GT1 car is stuck behind a flaming slower car on a straight and you just fly past them both,Sort of takes the fun out a bit imo.I was gutted to find that Barcelona was the track for the demo as iam not a big fan of it,but to be fair the track did feel as if it had more life to it with the trackside characters and the marshals look more life like also.

THANKS to someone (cant remember who) they managed to make the exe's for the all tracks s7r,550 etc...I now probably have like between 80-90+ tracks with variations etc...So if it wasnt for all the other tracks i probably wouldnt be playing the demo now.

I also like how simbin have left most of the files decrypted so you can see how stuff is done and maybe it might attract more modders to gtr2.There is already some mods being worked on for gtr2 as we speak.

What i like the most is (and i know it was in gtl) the sun in your eyes.

Iam also looking forward to multi player, but what do you reckon,a grid full of mc12's or have people got other ideas on what there going to drive like m3 etc....

Well theres my view on GTR2 demo and overall i absolutely love it,top game well done simbin.Cant wait for the final release.

Also about the physics, well iam unsure on this one,if you watch GT cars on tv they hardly ever seem to slide out on corners etc...Like the other night i was watching the ALMS race at road america and the astons and corvettes just seem to blast it round every corner,So tbh i dont know if the GTR2 physics are closer to the real thing or not, guess its just one of them things that we are never gonna know for sure.

Yawn.

All the best

Dan

The gtr 2 is poor comperd to gtr 1.The car handeling is much more isear then before........Gtr2 is just a monetacker.
