Indeed.
I am loosing all the interest of racing in GTL.
Unfortunatly, most of the times, there is more people in GTR2 servers than GTL.
One thing is playing a game in his own world, other thing is what is happening in GTL,
please dont argue that it could be a mod, or i will be more desapointed.
Before GTR2 release, i surely will spend more time at GTR online than GTL

GTR and GTL reflects two different ages. And you cant say what is better - it sounds like if you would say "formula one better then rally, but football is the best"

Yeah, I hear you PRibeiro, I get the very same feeling here!

I like Fia-GT cars and GTR2 looks like a pretty good game but these GTR2 cars don't belong in GTL, exactly the same thing as placing modern F1 cars in GPL.

There isn't any other game dedicated to classic GT cars around (and probably there won't be after this), people have been keeping things more or less "blocked" to modern cars in GTL, trying to keep things in the same "old-ish" spirit of the original game ...untill now, and the damage is already pretty visible in the lobbie.

Surely many won't agree (just look at the lobbie...) but in the end GTL did lost some pedigree by being used like some regular platform, RFactor alike.

IMHO this isn't modding anymore, it's hacking content, pure and simple.
...two ****** months of waiting to get the full game, how hard is that? :mad::

Pretty disgusted with this comunity (or the idea that I had of it), the funny thing is if I ever decide to dedicate any of my time to GTR2 I'll get to see the very same vultures around in there! :p

Just play GTL and don´t make servers with 45 minutes of practice time (I`ve seen that last night) and more people will join.

Well ive been playing GTR2 online for a while and my exp compared to GTL is one of exciting/close/gentlemen racing..and this is on a public server.

Tell me where u find that in GTL publics..hey? You have to join a league which is where i now only race GTL. Had enough of wreaker noob GTL public races and nothing being done about it, by Simbin or whoever.

So GTL is not dying my friend...it was terminally ill for months and now when there are other NEWER options...naturally ppl will follow.

Yep, GTL suffers a lot by lacking features to control wrecking and cheating issues, hopefully it will be much better (totally fixed, fingers crossed!) in GTR2.

I dont understand myself :p Our team were expecting those well known wreakers to jump into GTR2 but only one has done so....ever (on our server that is)

Either the wreaker kiddies are too stoopid and dumb to figure out how to get on the moded server or whatever but the racing has been clean / polite EVERY race and coz of the "easier" driving model....allot closer throughout the field.

Had one...not two but one race back on a GTL public and low and behold u know what happened. Maybe its just me and my exp but enough is enough and GTL for me will only be in our League races and others i get invited 2.

I c this kind of response posted on almost every "anti-wreaker" forum. Join the army they say then a GTL league coz the game is still one of the best but just what we make of it will determine our everlasting enjoyment for our beloved historic motor racing! ...and by that i mean private servers atm

The one good thing that may come from the GTR2->GTL hack is this:

I have heard the GTR2 files are not encrypted.
So we may learn enuf from them to start adding some new historic cars to GTL.

Gtr2 demo seems no different to gtr,only freshly layed tarmac.ive been playing gtlegends from day one,i have recently had astint on gtr and now returned,dont think i'll buy gtr2,i can imagine it being a big flop like Toca race driver 3.only time will tell

Well with SSR offering the download and myself making a nice tutorial...gtr2 online has taken off. I've noted a huge increase in the nr and variety of racers that are racing the mod.

GTL is still verymuch alive but its still the only racing game plagued with wreakers every 2nd race.

Hey PR,Im 52 years of age. I will buy GTR2, but my love is with the older cars as there is quite a few racers around my age and older that understand these cars. Something GTR2 or the younger ones never will. How can a 21 year old understand what it was like in the 60s-70s cruisin around in a 500 h.p. car with your lady. Back in those days the cops used to try to race you. Now in days you do that,your liable to be shot. Bad idea if your even thinking about now. But I disagree, I think when GTR2 comes out, the adults an kids are going to split. I think you will see a more mature racer in GTL. And Im really looking forward to it. But time will tell. As a old friend of mine in GPL days use to say. "Most racers look for many races to run in. Im happy just to get 1 dam good race in a week" There may not be as many races as you see now but the races that will be run will be intense. Why? Because the older racers will come ready to race,not try to race on a setup they dont know and trying to race it on the fly. As you see now.

There were only a few racing GTR2 cars in the GTL lobby last weekend - I'd say less than 10 out of over 100.

I tried joining the GTR2 server just to see how the system would react (I don't have the GTR2 cars installed). I got into a very long (infinite?) re-loading session.

At least the wreckers stay out, but for real great online duels do as I did, re install GPL, grab the brilliant 65 and 69 mods and experience the most immersive racing ever :D

I agree that when GTR2 is out, more mature and serious racers will stick to the GTL sim as is very nicely said by Eno. I myself, a middleaged gentleman, am more appealed to a racecar with no aids like traction control and spolers for such, so the driver is the one which is most important. But that's my humble opinion.

Apperently wreckers don't want to spend much time modding the game with new tracks and possibilities (Gordini/ GTR2 cars ingame), so races hosted with addon-tracks are often occupied with genuine racers. Offcourse there are exeptions. They seek the easy way out to irritate as much people they can. This is why I will not buy GTR2.

My hope: Fortunately good sims will stay (GPL e.g.) and enthousiasts will embrace their own sim they like... still making addons and mods for their loved sim. :up:

R u talking about me and the bounch of crazy old men all nites meet for a gordini trophy in sears snowy or a nite race with F 550 in cadwell?? hehe i totally agree dude, and imo gtr2 cars mod doesnt kill anything, just give oppurtunity to have some more cars to drive, so i just can thanx guys like Radius or SSR Hozkinz who make of their best to let old farts like me enjoy their nites :D and btw u can easily notice by servers and cars in .... that ppl still appreciate gtl cars.
In my personal opionion is more important to be in a server with cool ppl than wot ure driving, that's it
