So, we have had few races and i think it's time to start a season.

We drive via checzh plugin: http://rbr.onlinegames.cz/index.php?setlng=eng And how to start quide: http://rbr.onlinegames.cz/index.php?act=al&p=howtostart

If you have any questions of how to use the plugin or other problems please ask them here: http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3757

We will drive with default RBR(1.02) cars, physics and tracks so you don't need any modifications, expect the plugin above. Reduced damage model.

We don't have a rally calendar, we will drive some shakedown events and ~monthly a rally where you score points.

We will drive with 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 points system.

Please sign up here, tell your name or nickname at plugin site and what car you will drive.

Might not be a bad idea to make the races public, but only the people who answered in this thread are eligible for No-Grip Championship points. But it'd be cool to have this password protected too so only No-Grippers can join up. Your scoring is OK, but maybe have second place be 8 points?

What does everyone think of SuperRally? In WRC next year they will have SuperRally, but if you use it you will not be eligible for season driver championship points. That may not be a bad idea for us as well. We could make the penalty 300 seconds (like WRC.)

Now i don't quite understand, make the rallys public but have a password, then it's not public imo.:

Maybe i'll change the scoring into what it's in real WRC now, 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. And we will not use super-rally.

I've been working 2 jobs lately but I'd still like to give it a try. Cant promise I'd make every race. Especially the reversed stages, those are hard for me to get motivated for. :P But count me in with the Toy. :D Or, just for fun, could I use the MG?

I was saying that either way it good- they both have thier merits. Either with a password OR public.

I wish I could use a Focus though. Lately I've been using it and I am liking it more than the Citroen. It's a little quicker to flick around and more nimble than the Xsara.

better ralis with password

I'll race the Hyundai Accent :)

I think a password will be good, that way only N0-Grip guys can immediately compare times etc.

Midi
4 September 06, 12:06
Okay, we will use password in tournaments and only those who are signed up here get the championship points.

And no you can't use any addon cars and i don't recommend of MGS1600 either because there won't be separate S1600 class.

The Czech plugin is down and there are problems going on with the Czech team. I personally think the end has come for the Czech plugin and if someone doesn't figure out how they did it and make another site that the end is come. Read about it on BHMS.

So the next order of business for us is to find a replacement for our rallies. I suggest http://domain863178.sites.fasthosts.com/rsrbrlive/global_index_live.asp and making a public session just for us. We can make several sessions so that everyone can be involved. You need RSRBR3 in order to play on RSRBRLive. The problem with it is that there is no damage carry over, so it is a hotlap rally site, but you get any track with any surface and also 91+ cars to choose from.

Franciscof

Here's a thought for one of the rallies:

http://www.bhmotorsports.com/board/download.php?id=13886 this is a link to d/l the Light For Night mod. It'd be great if we could do one night rally. The problems are that 1) it'd be on the honor system since there is no way to check if the mod is active 2) everyone would need to have the mod (it's really easy to install and uninstall) 3) it hurts your frame rate so you have reduce your graphics settings while you use it.

It'd only be one rally and it'd be a lot of fun. It's a suggestion, so just mull it over.

Franciscof
7 September 06, 15:39
link error :(

Midi
8 September 06, 14:54
Well i have tried it and on my comp and it was unplayable because of the framerate. So i think we won't use it. What kind a specs you have guybo?

guybo
8 September 06, 17:57
I have to drop down to 800x600 and also reduce my graphics quality and still that plugin makes my game run a little slow (still playable however)

P4 2.8 ghz
6600
1500 MB DDR400

8 September 06, 21:55
I say that's a no go then. I don't like to mess with settings to run one mod. Though I haven't evem said I'll join the season yet :).

Midi
14 September 06, 15:27
Well. I think we could start our season.

First event will be 27.9 - 3.10 and it's Pirelli rally of GB. Stages are default GB stages.

I'll put one shakedown/test event this weekend so that everyone can test that plugin and things is working for the real event.

guybo
14 September 06, 15:48
Do you mean September 27 to October 3?

Midi

Shakedown event now open: http://rbrczech.rbrmcr.com/index.php?act=tourmntsview&torid=1bfd95b110c77b5c4a23d275d972da40

guybo
15 September 06, 22:03
Well, I did the shakedown. Too bad we don't have any other app we can use for this. IMHO the Czech plugin is just too buggy to use for any sort of organized competition. I did a few practice stagesa and worked on my setups. This was in quick rally mode. Then I shut down and restarted the game. The plugin still royally ****ed up my setup. I don't know why it does it. The devs of the plugin have pretty much given up on fixing the bugs- the setup bug, the various random time penalties for no reason and that you have to restart the game to play after playing offline.

I'm glad we have this rally season- it'll be fun even if the plugin is screwed. I just wish we could use something like RSRBRLive even if it doesn't have damage carry over and service. At least with it you can tweak your setups between races and you don't have to have just the 3 setup slots.

Midi
15 September 06, 23:08
I haven't had any problems with plugin...

Lord_Verminaard
16 September 06, 14:47
Me either. I've even done some quick rallys then directly entered the plugin and had no problems. ??? I think it locked up on me one time, but I dont remember what I was doing that made it happen.

Brendan

guybo
17 September 06, 00:30
Even with a fresh install the plugin has given me all kinds of problems. It's caused RBR to crash before, it messes up my setups (this is a known bug if you check the plugin forums), it messes up after a quick stage and there is also a known problem with Sipirkakim where the plugin asseses a penalty of 33 seconds for no reason. Also the plugin will sometimes assess penalties for no reason. I'm jealous of you guys who have no prblems with the plugin, but maybe because I have 3243 KM on the plugin that I have found every possible problem.

I didn't realize we could restart! Can I redo the rally?

Midi
17 September 06, 14:28
Well, i think you can request tournament reset and i can allow it. But there will be another shakedown next weekend.

ps, 4628.6 km on plugin ;)

guybo
17 September 06, 17:36
Nah, I'm all set. I have deleted both my RBR installations and reinstalled the game and all my mods. I did Sipirkakim on the plugin today and I did not get the penalty, so maybe it's all set now. I hope anyway.

Franciscof
17 September 06, 18:06
guybo penalty is 33s?

if yes, this penalty "normal" in cz pluguin

P.s. - sorry you post in this topic :P

guybo
17 September 06, 20:30
Yeah, that's the one. It's part of the problem with the plugin. It's a known problem that's been with the plugin through the last 2 patches, the devs know about it and still do nothing about it. It's frustrating because they just don't do anythng about it.

I still use the plugin, but I don't think it's a good way to conduct any sort of compitition because the creators won't address the problems with it. It's too bad because it is the one app with the most potential for RBR. If they would incorperate RSRBR3 and different textures for the stages than they would really have something great. I IM'ed with Wally a few times and he has no interest in it though. No reason why, just doesn't :

Franciscof

Hello,

I started the No-Grip Shakedown yesterday with driving the stage 1 & 2. Today I want to finish the last two stages from the shakedown, but it is not showing in the tournament-list in RBR - it's showing at the czech-pugin site under "opened tournaments". Why? Is it a mistake by me?

Midi
19 September 06, 22:15
You can't resume tournaments, you have to drive all the stages at once.

19 September 06, 23:45
How does the head gasket problem happen?

I LFB all the time and almost exclusively use realistic damage, but the only time I ever get a blown head gasket is when I get into a truly spectacular crash (and have to use SuperRally and the 90 minute Rally RZ to continue). Even when specifically trying to blow my head gasket just to see the problem meyself I have not been able to do it.

For once! A bug in the game that DOES NOT affect me!

Lord_Verminaard
22 September 06, 02:07
Strange. I dont think I've ever blown a headgasket. Although I do seem to blow the clutch every time I so much as tap a tree or stump. :P Even on reduced damage.

Brendan

Midi
23 September 06, 08:01
How does the head gasket problem happen?

Well, for me it happens almost very stage if driving with realistic damage. Headgasket just blows up at some point of the stage or then slowly gets damage during stage. And in the end you may have some 50hp left in your engine.

Hello,

wow, only 50% finished. Congratulations to Midi for his outclassing victory :trophy:  . For me it was the fear to lose the car -because of the damages- to drive not really fast. The last two stages I'm getting more and more nervous about that, but reach the finish very happy. :)
Driving RBR with a gamepad is like sending a large text with morse code with the brake- and throttlebutton.

Waiting for the next event...

I can't do rallies on less than realistic damage. It's ironic that I finish most rallies on realistic then crash out of most rallies on reduced. That's whjy I always rally on realistic damage. If I have that fear of real damage all the time, I do much better at keeping out of the rough.

I had this same problem sometime ago but it doesn't bother me anymore. I have used to drive always reduced.

guybo
8 October 06, 19:13
We should change to realistic. IMHO- It's the only way to really race in RBR. The head gasket bug is not a bug- it is a result of beating on your engine too much when you drive. If you kill your engine on realistic damage, you have to change the way you drive.

Anyway, be that as it may, I don't think I'll do any more of these rallies. I don't know what it is about reduced damage, but it's useless for me to even try. It's in my head and it happens in any reduced damage rally. I DNF in my share of realistic rallies too, but my completion % in realistic rallies is much higher.

Midi
8 October 06, 21:35
The headgasket thing is discussed so many times on different boards that i'm not going trough it again, we will drive with reduced damage.

Well if it's so, looks like you don't race with us. But you are welcome to come back if you "learn" to drive with reduced..

YorT
9 October 06, 06:26
The aim of any community racing is the enjoyment of racing each other with the same conditions/parameters, so it is irrelavent what damage levels we are using because we are all in the same boat.

And the most important thing not to forget is to have FUN.:D

And the most important thing not to forget is to have FUN.:D

That's true, i think reduced damage is good because that way more drivers will actually be able to finish the event (let's face it, only Midi can be concidered as a great driver no matter what the rules etc. are), and more drivers=more competition=more fun

yes, unfortunately it seems that the 'NoGrip-Rally Scene' is dozing off a little bit...:(. We also lost a member of the NG-Team at the czech-plugin.
This site has over 25.000 members, so we should able to find 10-15 people for a championchip...
