I just purchased GTR2 @ Best Buy this morning and wow! The graphical improvement is staggering over GTR as it obviously has taken full advantage of all DX9 capabilities, true anti-aliasing, and better colors and terrific sound.
I have every simulation for racing ever released since 1985 when we inserted a 5 1/4 floppy into a hard driveless computer and raced with the cursor keys and a pc speaker.
So, here we are 21 years later and the clarity is truly stunning. When cars are running just in front of you it is so clear and real, and the flicker is gone along with all the jagged lines. Down to the tires, trees, skies, etc. this game has jumped into the forefront of racing sims. And for just 20 bucks, you will have access to many extra treats online from the extremely talented and generous codies who work very hard to provide us with so many add ons.
Now I know Rfactor is truly on the same graphical level but the game comes basically bare and expect many who may only have a phoneline connection to download addons and for twice the cost.

I recommend a force feedback wheel but this game will support keyboard and mouse. I have athlon 64/2.1 ghz - 6800gt/oc nvidia/256mb - 1gb ram and this hog still wants more for max detail and framerates but it runs absolutely flawlessly @ 1152x864 with many detail levels on full or high producing 35-50 framerate, over 30 for smooth gameplay wanted....average Control-f readout is 42.
I just really hope that the codies will grant us a few F1 cars to drive and a few F1 tracks to boot, even though GTR is not that theme of a game...
