MMM are working on bathurst so i guess it will be out fairly soon :)

I managed to convert MMMs last bathurts one successfully but for some reason the Saftey Car is parked right on Start Finish Line. Also i have managed to do Laguna Seca & Surfers Paradise thou the first doesnt look great & i cant get lights to work on cars etc, might need some tips on where to start on those.
I have also made a decent loading screen template & loading bar template which work well. I'll upload those now for anyone who want them.

all the aussie tracks are coming also with the v8 supercars as one big mod i have about 4 tracks left to do and then some final tweaks so please have some patience...trust me its all i have doing for awhile now:)

Once i get in from work i will have another look & see if i can sort the saftey car, either way by the end of the day i will upload all so people can decide, i will point out though that they are straight conversions & no tweaking, Laguna in particular looks poor but the track itself is fine & i love it so i will upload this when i get in.
Monaco is the only other track i would like but can find no Monaco to convert, so who knows.

He is NOT taking credit.. and in the mean time some of us can't be arsed to wait for the "real owner" to get the work done.. but still wanna have fun.

When the real deal arrives I for one would simply remove the imposter and install the real one.

So - again, what is the hassle these creative types keep having?

It's not like the original creator is not being given credit.

Quite honestly, it's all these petty sopa operas that drove myself and many simmers I know away from the scene a few years back... and it's sad to see the same drama is still going.

Plus certain authors in readme's already explicity request to be contacted for official release.

If that were the case I would have released Surfers Ages ago in which Everything works.

Another thing would be.. how hard to ask for permission. If no permission is obtained its stealing.

The "converter" is NOT taking credit for the work.. and is actually providing a service the original creator has yet to fill.

And mind you - just like any other invention, derivative works are explicity and legaly allowed - and just becaue you say "No one may make a nother mouse trap from wood and springs" doesn't mean that someone can't IMPROVE your design and make a "better mousetrap".

Again though - whats the big deal - the person is NOT CLAIMING CREDIT and is ACKNOWLEDGING IT IS A DERIVATIVE WORK and is GIVING CREDIT to the ORIGINAL ARTIST - not unlike a rapping DJ remix of your favourite prepubescent teenage boy bands latest hit... ;) :P

Its people releasing this work that is driving modders and creaters away, and pissing us off.

HSU put my BGT Standalones up without permission and thats bothersome. Considering the mod is not finished and the Standalones are only released on the official site and RSC.

I have CTDP's Bahrain in GTR2 and GTL now. But they have already said no to a conversion theirfore it will never be released.

With Hilltop. I received sought out permission and it was released. Everythign works except for Rain Reflections which i dont understand at all, but permission was obtained. Hoskins has given me permission to release all his standalones for GTR as GTR2 cars with updates. Theirfore they were released but never before i had permission.

I just think it is only fair to original authors that permission is sought out.

Bull - because if for some arbitrary reason Hoskins said "No - screw em all" then it would be HIS loss... not ours.

I been racing bathurst and Laguna Seca in GTR2 for ages. Simply downloaded the GTL tracks from gtr4u.de and renamed the gtl files and editted the trk file.

Just installed Bathurst. Whats with the huge slow down like you're being anchored to the road when you go through the dip in Reid or Mcphillamy Park (forget which one). It's really annoying.

Just checked and it's Reid Park, where the track dips quite violently. Doesn't matter which car I use or the ride height, does it every time. An otherwise good example of the circuit.

i get the same thing....as i have never payed much attention to the races i just assumed thats how it was in rl. It bottoms out quite hard.

The frame rate is also very inconsistent on this track. Apart from that, it's quite a challenge, and some of the geometries may be a little extreme, like the dip through Reid Park.
Realistically you should be pulling 5th gear through Reid Park, not going back to 3rd cause it bottoms out so hard.

saying that had ago at converting laguna myself from GTL it sort works i mean the graphix arnt as good as gtr-2 and it crashs back to desk top wen saving hotlaps but hey not bad for my first atempt lol
