Thanks Willy.I have started reading part 1 and find it very useful.It confirms some of my thinking and also answers a few questions at the same time.
Actually,on the subject of MoTeC.It worked perfectly in the original GTR.I don't know why Simbin decided to change it and make it difficult - that's progress for ya!!

no those car that don't have a working motec is not for making it harder for the player, its based on that the real cars of the particular makes dosent have more info , and the f360 in GTR had too much motec info compared to the real cars , so they adjusted it in GTR2 so the player would be put in the same situation as a driver would be.
this is and issue where I think there should have been made a comprimise, atleast it would have been very helpfull as a player to be able to see lap count and split times from with in the cockpit with out aktivating that damn HUD .......... I dont like the HUD at all ;)

Thanks for that bit of useful info.When I stop and think about it,everything you say makes perfect sense and I of all people should know that cars have different access to MoTeC information in the real world.As you say,some don't use it at all.As you say,a compromise in the sim would have been better.Like you,I'm not a greater lover of the HUD.
