Hi,
Has anybody managed to get the motec software working on xp 64 bit?

If so please explain how. At the moment it wont install it says OS not supported. If you go into compatibility and make the setup believe its running on 32 bit xp it still says os not supported.

Any Ideas? I could install it on separate machine with XP on it, but I would end up having to transfer files every time I want to look at data.

That's what I do.

There's no way that I have found to get it installed on XP64.

Having said that, the earlier versions of the Motec software DO install on XP64. So that may be another option for you, if you are happy with the earlier version.

Ok, I got motec to work on XP64 bit.

***Do this at your own risk, and don't blame me if your computer(s) explodes or decides to stop working in any other way***

Download motec i2pro,
Find another computer with normal XP 32bit on it
Install on the 32bit version of windows
Copy the folder c:\motec\logged data to a usb key or cd
Copy the folder c:\program files\Motec to a usb key or cd
uninstall motec from this other PC.
Take the key to your XP64 machine.
Copy the Programs Files\Motec folder from program files to program files(x32)
Copy the Logged data folder to c:\motec\logged data

Motec will now run from the program files(32) folder, but you should probably make a shortcut on the desktop to motec.exe.

Then Setup gtr to log motec data as follows

in the yourname.plr file of gtr2 according to these:

Data Acquisition EXE="C:\Programme files (x32)\MoTeC\i2\1.0\MoTeC.exe"
Data Acquisition File="userdata\vehicledata.spt"
MoTeC LogFolder="C:\MoTeC\Logged Data"
MoTeC Minimum Time="20" // minimum MoTeC recording time (sec)
MoTeC Multiple Logs="1" // generate unique filename for each new log

this .plr file is located in :
yourdrive:\GTR2\UserData\yourname

I borrowed a lot of on of Freddies post at the end there :)

It works in XP64 just fine, and although I have'nt tested it, you can probaly run it directly from the usb key if you like bringing you laps into work. All thouse graphs actually look like work anyway :)
