Online...
I know this may seem silly to some but online racing for me is very challenging and one of my favorite things to play when racing GTR2. AI is fun, but it is just a huge change when you throw in the unpredictability of the human element. When you want to keep all the fenders on the car. Keep off of others, and run a clean race.
Monza, 6 laps at night. I was 5th on the grid of 9 running a Ferrari 575. The rest of the grid was another 575,Lambo and seven Saleen's. Standing start and I took it slow off the start allowing the field to pass me. I suspected carnage in the chicane with it being night. I was correct. I slipped threw the wrecks with only a few fender dents to the rear as cars reentered the course. Running third now I just started logging laps because Monza even during the day is tough for me. I can't seem to hit my braking marks correctly. The Ferrari and Lambo also made it threw and I started to just try to keep up. The Lambo must have missed a mark because a few corners later I was blasting threw some dirt in the air and the Lambo was slow ahead. I snuck passed and keeped logging. Again, more dirt in the air and I had the Ferrari.
First now heading into lap two. I was worried about the chicane because both 2,3 where on my ass. We hit it and I slowed more then expected. The Lambo planted his nose in my passenger door as I was taking the line into the chicane. Thankfully he backed out of the throttle(thanks RUFF RIDER) and didn't spin me out. The remainder of the race was just loggin laps. The field was 2 seconds or more behind me and I keeped it there until the last lap where the Lambo started to catch up but as the checker fell it was a cool 1 second lead and my first win online.
I know, big deal, only 9 cars and carnage. But it was my first win. Which was exciting. I was a little nervous on that last lap of losing it but I managed to hit the marks. Hopefully I can continue to improve and maybe step up to some league racing:D
Anyone else have a tail of poping thier virginity on the track.
