Idea for the league replays

Well i was messing around with google video last night and i found this video.

I like the commentary and the little reports about how each driver did and everything. I thought (if anybody knows how to do it) that it would be a cool idea for the league replays of this seasons GTR2 races. In each replay we could have a commentator talking about who qualified where, race winner, race highlights, who moved up the highest, new racers,etc. Tell me what you think.

Its a nice idea but its a lot of work. You need to get the replay, play it ingame and record it to mpeg using fraps. To get everybodies stories and incidents from a good angle you'd have to record it multiple times. So you would have 400mins+ of video from a 40min race, then you'd have to edit it all down using some editing software to something like 5 mins. Then you'd have to add the commentary.

If you split it up amoungst a team of people it might be easier, but at the end of the day you spend lots of time for a 5 min video that will really only be of interest to those in the race.

The only others who would be interesting making somethign like this is anybody studying film + tv production. This kind of thing is like college project work for them.

you can,
1. Get the reply file from this site
2. Get fraps and record the videos
3. Get some video software, and take all the best bits of the videos.
4. Get a mic and a copy of audacity, record your commentary.
5. Use audacity or virtualdub to mix the original audio and your commentary.

Its not hard to do, its just time consuming :cool::
