GTR2 drifting Impossible?!?

Sometimes driving laps around a track gets boring so I tried to drift with
the stock cars in the game, It can be done with small angles but it usually ends up spinning out :( , until I saw a vid from some Dutch guys and their BMW

After seeing that, I started to work on my own drift car and I'm pretty satisfied with the result :D

you mean a car setup?
no setup needed to drift this one dude, it is all about friction :D and 4WD
other importand things are tyres, steering lock, suspension and a little extra torque to finish it off :P

I can tell that I'm the guy who made that film, and I drove it.

The car was made by [RMT]Serial.

It's the BMW M3 GTR Evo.
Has a 800bhp V10, 4wd and is a extremly good drift car.
The car is readdy for release, but we will wait until the new Nurbie is out.

there is a difference between drifting and powersliding. these videos show powersliding

drifting is a balanced condition where all tires slide evenly. drifting is neither oversteer nor understeer, but a balanced combination of both. drifting is driving just beyond maximum traction. the farther beyond one goes, the greater the drift. power is only required for balance, and 4WD is not required at all

adding throttle adds drift, resulting in an outside line. easing the throttle lessens drift, resulting in an inside line. I find it's easier to drift in an underpowered car because the throttle balance is less sensitive. but that's in life, not GTR2 :)

I tried to make a RWD "powerslide" car but the gtr2 engine doesn't allow sliding without spinning out with rwd
and with 4wd it can be done perfectly with some "small" adjustments in the "tyr" , "hdc" files

Its possible to drift on rwd, you just have to find the good setup
here 's a lap on rally china in saleen (the M3 first gear is too long :( )

I was able to do that aswel but I wanted bigger sliding angles
but very good job sliding in the tunnel :D

It's possible to change the lateral and longitudinal G of tyres to "street" values DryLatLong=(1.245, 1.582) // Lateral/longitudinal coefficients in dry weather

You can enable handbrake by changing the "handbrakepress setting" in your setup file (.svm) try 7

no use adding a handbrake, ALL 4 wheels will block using the handbrake because its 4WD

I tried that before, it only works good on RWd and FWD
