View Full Version : How to put a functional steering wheel into a car model for GTR2

I am working on converting some cars to GTR2, and I am stuck on getting the steering wheel to rotate on its center in the drivers hands.

If I set the wheel to have all the axis to zero, then it rotates correctly, but is in the wrong place for the car, and if I have the wheel so that it is in the drivers hands, then it seems to be rotating around the zero axis point and not the center of the wheel.

What am I not doing? The only thing I see for this is the wheel axis point in the CAR file.

I am using 3dSimEd to convert.

I upgraded to the latest 3dSimEd which has the facility to allow you to save a pivot axis point other than the 0,0,0 of the model. Now I get a centered rotating wheel...

Next issue is getting the analog gauges to work in the dashboard... That seems to be a lot harder, and requires hex editing - can anyone give me a list of things I need to look at to do this?
