Hope this is the right place to ask...
I got a copy of FRAPS, seems pretty straightforward to use... so I tried it, but it only recorded video, no sound. Checked the help file, it said to make sure the right sound recording devices is selected etc... Under the "Audio" tab in Sound, the options I have are "HD Audio Digital In," "HD Audio Front Mic," and "HD Audio Capture." It had been set to HD Audio Digital In originally.
Under Properties in the Volume control with this, I had no options whatsoever for a device to check. I tried switching to "HD Audio Capture," which gave me four options under Properties to check: "Stereo Mix," "CD Audio," "Line In," and "Mic In." The only one that makes sense to choose of these for us "Stereo Mix," but when I check that off and adjust the volume, I get static and white noise in the FRAPS capture instead, so clearly that's not where the Audio Input is.
What gives? Is something fundamentally missing from my Audio setup in Windows? I've never had any other trouble...
