Massive Patch

Suddenly out of the blue there's a new patch for RBR. It's unofficial and includes more than 120 cars and 108 stages! The update also allows you to play all RBR originals stages in 4 mods: all-tarmac, all-snow, all-gravel and normal.
It's a massive 620 MB and it's here http://www.gamershell.com/download_17081.shtml
I won't be getting it just yet as I had a Wii for christmas :-D so let me know how you get on with it.

It's not a patch, it's a mod. :) It's already the fourth version of the known (...or apparently not ? ;)) RSRBR mod by Rallyesim - RSRBR IV.

Has anyone tried it? Is it any good? Can you still race on the net at rbr-online with it installed ( not that I ever got that to work without it installed :-( )

Some of the cockpits in V3 were awesome immersion.

Here is a copy paste of thread I just did at dragon to help ya


Sweet so far so good

For people that dont know.

1. download RSRBR V4
http://www.gamershell.com/download_17081.shtml

2. unzip to a temp and archive

3. copy all files to RBR root folder IF you DONT it wont load the mod just the patches

4. run RSRBR installation.bat from RBR root folder

5. follow prompts done :) It can take a while to complete .....

This will install all needed patches and nocd for fresh install.

Make shortcuts for RSRBR4.exe and the Skin Manager.exe

6. You might get a error when you try to run RSRBR4.exe

missing file mabee ....... COMCTL32.OCX: ;)

Just get the file >>> http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/images/lib/COMCTL32.OCX
then copy it COMCTL32.OCX to C:\windows\system32 thats it
and archive with the RSRBR backup

please help!! i am so clueles!! i dont care so much about cars, but want new tracks for rbr!! downloaded patch, unzipped to rbr folder, installed mods, but have no idea what to do next. it's impossible to figure out.

Hello gorgan77,

there are no new tracks in RSRBR3+4 :( .
The only new thing is that you can choose for each rally tarmac-, gravel- or snow-mod (e.g. Finland/Tarmac). You have to start the game with the RSRBR3 or 4 exe and not with your normal RBR-Game. You will see the picture in post #3. First choose a car-package, then choose a mod (normal = orig-RBR) and after that make a "x" by RBR_SSE or RBR_NoSSE and "click" the Launch-Button. The game will start and you should be able to race...

thanks man, appreciate the help. it's just so hard to get this thing going. i know about the window in post 3, yeah, but when i choose the mod, and y'know the gravel or tarmac, then i think install or something, then i need to discharge, right? but i always crash!! i know about the fix for crashing but it hasn't seemed to help at all. anyway , thanx for the help , but i think after 3 tries am going to leave it. anyway, i want to ask you guys another question, cause you know alot better than i do, i want to upgrade my geforce 6200 with like a 7700 nvidia agp card . cant use pci express , my mobo is only agp and i am not ready to upgrade my pc(p4 northwood, 2 gigs with 1 gig of ram, ) would a 7700 nvidia be a good bet? rbr stutters just a bit, nothing too bad , but my fps in gt legends, gtr2, and rfactor is pretty damn bad . i am not spending over 200.00 at this time , can't afford it. think it was a 7700 geforce i saw in best buy for about 2 hundred bucks. would appreciate some feedback. thanx in advance guys!!

Disable AF and AA while playing RBR.
(RBR´s driver-view has so many action in all four directions, so you dont
need AF and AA. Better a higher resolution instead.

seem's to be running now, just gotta install the track's now :)

Is there a list anywhere of what the 120 cars comprise?
Anything significantly new, or mostly lots of colour schemes?

You may be able to get things to work by executing

""regsvr32.exe msstdfmt.dll" in Start, Run.
