I know that this seems strange but I have just bought gpl, i bought it because after playing gtl for a while people told me i should try it out. Does anyone know of any cool sites for this game. I am enjoying playing it but i feel that i am just scratching the surface of this game and would like to get to a decent level with it. set up help would be most welcome too.

Good choice !!
The only drawback is that it is a great possibilty
that you won't play any other sims from now on !!
You should patch it up to 1.2.0.2 or:
get the GPL 2004 demo from Blackhole, which is already patched, then
copy the (remaining 10) original tracks from your CD.
Either way you probaly also want to get graphical updates
for the tracks (except for Watkins Glen which is already updated
in the GPL 1004 demo)
Look in RSC for track updates
Happy GPL'ing

Thanks guys, its so hard, i am only just getting cleanish laps of africa, like in the 1.22's and i feel like i have managed a minor miriacle. Then I go and look at times posted on the web and i see that I have a lot to learn still but great fun none the less.

Look out for tracks like "Dundrod", "Crystal Palace" and "Falkenberg"
They look awsome pretty and are relative easy to learn.

You certainly chose the toughest track/benchmark combo. I would
say 1.22.XX at Kya is pretty good, considering you've only had GPL for
a couple of weeks.
If you like to crack benchmarks I suggest you go to Silverstone
or Monza, they are the easiest. If the Lotus is too twitchy try Eagle
with stable setups, e.g. RE1 or Chris Moses 25T.
