I got the GTR2 dedicated server to work via wine under Ubuntu 6.10  (see screenshot)
Its quite easy really, just copy your game folder across, and from a terminal run "wine GTR2Dedicated.exe"
Anyway, I was fully expecting that part to work, but what I would like to know is the following
Is there any way to get the windows dedicated server to startup without the GUI?
I'm hopping that you can start up the server in a text only non-gui mode, and that it will get all its config from a text file. If i can do this I can write a bash or python script on the linux box to control the server. Then I can move it across to a headless gentoo linux server I have.
Before anyone asks, i've not got the full game to work yet as the laptop its running on only has an intel 852GM integrated graphics card, which is far below par, although I got Counter Strike Source to run on it a 5 fps in Linux once
