Anyone made one or working on one?
I co-drive in one here in the US and wouldlive to be able to get our car into RT.
I am new to modding games and have never modeled before, so I dont want to start with something that has already been done.
to the best of my knowledge, no one has made or is making one of those

Ok, here is the begining of my first attempt...
Can anyone give a newbie any advice (other than what is in the guides)?
It would appear that I could take an existing RT model and use many of its parts (as is or slightly modified), like tires and such... Is this the way to do it, or am I stuck building the whole thing from scratch is that's the way I start?

there's no reason why you cant use parts from an original RT model for it :)

I have done a little work on the model, but have not had much time to put into it...

Anyone interested in doing the wheels? I can't seem to get them right...
I also need some help with mappin the image of the car onto the model, but I think I just need to spend more time on that.
Comments welcome

Coming along well, what's the problem with the wheels? I would have though they were the easiest.
Can you not take wheels from another car and re-scale them and add new textures?

I tried that. Something didnt work right... Again, I think it is the mapping I am having trouble with for some reason.
Started mnjlovell project again and here is what it looks like at the moment.
Based on his "real" rally RX7

I am uploading some 3D wheels to RBR/misc. You can use the textures included just by naming to tire_intermediate. One is perfect for this car. On all, it is easy to replace and retexture only the center, and use tire and rim as they are.
Coming on well........
Just for information, there is also a Group B version of this model, and it does not require many changes regarding that model. :D
This will be scratch model specific to mnjlovell's rally car.
What group B car are you refering too??
The Mazda RX 7 Group B. It wasn't notorious or famous but nevertheless it existed and raced... An it was a factory car fully developed by Mazdaspeed.

The only thing i am aware of that's even close to a group B RX-7 was Rod Millen's...
He had both a first gen adn 2nd grn with 4wd. the first gen had a 13B and the second gen had a 20b making a reported 500hp.
he competed against group B cars, but i dont think it was offishally one- more like a 1-off
If you have info on an actual group B RX-7, I'd be interested.
THanks for all the work YorT, its looking great.
I don't have the actual info because I just moved countries and all my books are back in Portugal, but if someone has the book 'Rallycars' of Koneman Pub, they can post you all the info.
