Fps Gtr2 Vs Gtl

ok this is odd, But I get better FPS with GTR2 than I do with GTL. Going threw the options menus in both games I seem to have GTR2 graphics turned up Higher. both games have been a straight up install I havent tweaked anything except what is in the ingame settings... what can I do to get more from GTL (I like GTL better)

All I can say is that GTR2 is a newer application... and could be more efficient?

What settings are you running on your graphics card for GTR2
resolution = ?
AA=?
Ansitropic Filtering = ?

What GTR2 video settings are you set-up for? low/med/full/custom

What is the average fps you are seeing?

my problem is similar to novocain's. my gtr2 plays faster than my gtl.

i'm running a:

intel pentium 4 - 2.4ghz processor
ati radeon x-800 xl - agp 8x/4x - 256mb video card
1 gb - 184 ddr dimm crucial memory
maxtor 120gb - 7200rpm hard drive
380w - power supply
shuttle av49n w/via 4-400 chipset board
windows xp pro w sp2 @ directx 9

i have set all the video @ game buttons on both games to the max.
running them on a 1280 x 1024 setting.

don't know about aa or ansitropic filtering.

btw. i don't know how to read the fps for the games. cansomeone help me with this.

the problem is mostly with gtl but it is not a grave one at that.

I've got the same.
The GTR2 engine had a better efficiency than the GTL engine.

I drive it on a:
P4 2,6
GF 6600GT
1,5GB of RAM :)

GTR2
1280*960 @ 4x AA, 8x AF

GTL 1024*768 @ 2xAA 4x AF
GTR2 has more frames at that setting than GTL has on the above setting

Download Fraps,
Enable it before you start the game.
In the left-upper corner you'll see your fps

CRTL F - will give you the frame rate in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Maybe its just (its not the perfect word but owell..) perspective or somethin...Modern GT cars= faster so they give you a feeling of better fps maybe?

nah , GTR2 is a little more optimized then GTL as far as i know... thats unless of course you are running 50 cars @ Spa @ Night in the rain :eek:
