View Full Version : Understeer on power on

I try too follow the instructions in Speed Secret by go on the throttle as soon as possible. But the car starts to under-steers right away. A lot. Even if I just push the pedal very gently. I have to be almost out of the corner and straight to be able to push the throttle.

So the question is:
- Am I doing something wrong (very possible :o ) ?
- Can I make some set-up changes?

The car is the BMW M3 GTR and the track is Dubai 2004 (which seems to have some corners with wrong banking).

Your diff setting for Acceleration is probably too high, reduce it. If that does'nt work reduce the diff preload.

Other than that you could change your rear damper rebound (fast + slow), keep raising it until the back gets snappy then drop it down by 2.

If - as I suspect you are - using the default settings on your differential I think you'll find the power is set too low. The understeer is probably caused by lack of negative camber at the front and lack of positive caster.

I did all of it. Much better now :) Thank you. Hardened the springs 1 click also.

Started the race in 6th place (5 GT class cars in front). And ended 6 (before some of the GT's). Had been better if I had not been pushed into a spin – but managed to stay on the road – 10 laps into the race
