Is there a way to make the car with the driverseat on the left???
I'm from europe and we drive on the right of the road here (except in GB, they drive left :p ) and feel more comfortable driving cars with a left driverposition. Is there a way to change the Nissan's driverposition to the left??
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.Kodiak.

You can modify the file .car of each 350Z and change this line:
Eyepoint=(-0.40, 0.64, 0.26) by Eyepoint=(0.40, 0.64, 0.26)
if you write this line, Eyepoint=(0.0, 0.64, 0.26)you have a central position.
But only arms are mooving, not the wheel. You can change extrenal position, but it's not buetiful for the replay.
(i am french, if u want explain in frnech, it will be better :D )

Ahum, I don't mean changing the Eyepoint to the left. I mean changing the whole dashboard! Like in a left driverseatcar, put the steeringwheel and all the rest to the other side of the car. Is that possible?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards, Kodiak.

I asked the question awhile back and got about the same "answers". Next, you're going to get advice to learn to drive the car as is.
Near as I can tell, mirroring the dash and moving the driving perspective would be an effort but not a difficult one. But there is more to it. The instruments have to be moved as well and that seems to be shrouded in mystery.
It does seem that the people who know how to do the work either aren't noticing the question (not surprising 'cause they're often busy doing other neat stuff that'll benefit us all) or haven't the time to walk someone through the process. Some of the processes that aren't already written up would take twice as long to write up as to actually do, and the people who can do either, haven't the time.
But that's a guess.

In every class there is a car which has the steering wheel on the side you want it to be on. Pick another car if it bothers you that much.
I come from one of those countrys where they drive on the "other" side. So for me the majority of the cars in the game have the wheel on the "wrong" side, if I can get over it and enjoy the game I'm sure you can too.
I don't think its a case that nobody knows how to do it. Its like darock eluded to, it will be very low on the priorities

I am going to agree with Karlos here. While I am from the US and the steering sides differ for us, it isn't that hard to adapt. The bigger issue I had with the 350Z was speedometer and motec on the steering wheel. That issue has been somewhat resolved. I find the Lister and the 350Z to be fun cars to drive. I am not a big fan of the TVR do to the limited view you get in it.

I only hate the way the view feels limited when driving on the right side.

Mirroring the dash would be the easy part. Like less than a minute.

Hilarious! Really needed to hear that after the week I've had... :p
In all seriousness, it would take some effort as not only do all of the objects have to be moved and mappings updated, but all of the viewpoint coordinates would have to be adjusted.
And then on top of that, the physics would have to be modified since even though you looked like you were on the left, it would 'feel' like you're on the right.
All in all, it's probably not worth the effort to do. I would much rather see a modder that is talented enough to do this work on something more grandeur.

Some people drive with the hood POV. I have never heard them say left or right cockpit cars handle different. I don't think the physics would have to change.

Good point, FBlue. Didn't think about that, admittedly. The physics are based on the center of gravity of the car and not the position of the driver, come to think of it.

You know, some people would rather have a blue car instead of a red car. Telling them to get used to red cars seems a bit rude. Or not very understanding. But it seems to be the character of this place. And nothing in the post answering his question, just your opinion of him. Helpful? :roflmao:

Well some people would like you to hold there knob for them while they take a pee, but you'd probably tell them to get lost and hold it themself, like most other people manage to do all by themselves. :p
Sometimes its actually nicer to say no, and set some resonable expectations
