Hi,
I think you should take a look at Taku's site (http://tkgtrfile.exblog.jp/), as one can download from there a new mod for GTR2 with some 50 cars, with a proper .gdb (I think) creating a new class, etc. Everything looks incredibly well done, as usual with Taku/Nibmis.
I searched the new posts and saw no mention to this, so I thought I could just let you know.
Cheers,

I do not understand Japanese either and was able to get the .rar file (it's about 50Mb and its extraction works very well).
There is a brief explanation in English and a link under the word 'more'.
I just think your efforts will pay.

Indeed, I see a lot of ??????
And when I see the link referers, I see mail, blog etc, but not 'more'.
So I think a link would be valueable.

yes, a link to the real thing would be nice ;)
No worries I found one :D
I won't post a link cause it may be an illegal one

Well, maybe this will do it for you.
This is just the first of 3 mirrors: http://files.filefront.com/WorldGT_CarPack_forGTR2_v1rar/;6737848;;/
The 3rd link is from RapidShare (not so many fans out there) and the 2nd mirror is a direct link to the file download from a site I never heard of (I am downloading it now at an average 80k/sec, just to try).
Good luck.

I had problems with both Firefox and IE since I don't have any Japanese fonts installed on my system. Fired up the latest version of Opera and MUCH better :D
Easy to find the correct links then.

'That link gets me nothing'
I hate ungrateful and unpolite people.
I have nothing to do with Taku's work but, because it is usually so good, I thought it would be a good idea to share my 'discovery' with the community. Of course, I should know better.
In my machine (I use Firefox 2.0) the link gets me directly to the FileFront download of the file. I am no computer wizard, on the contrary. So, for all those of you that apparently only eat the food that others already prepared and put on the table ready for you (I mean, those of you apparently lazy and ungrateful, and I mean no disrespect), point your browsers to the link privided in post #8 above.
If you find Taku's work worthy of any appreciation perhaps you should let him know it as everybody in the world knows the meaning of the words 'Thank you'.

Sorry ZeZeZoom, I like the mod, thanks for the link(the second worked for me)
but I'm not sure if it's okay with original authors cause I've seen some of these cars standalones

There is no reason for you to be sorry.
I think the mod is OK although, as it is said by the author, it is not a Simbin product (it is a mod).
As to the similarity of some of the cars with others already available I assume the cars are just similar, not the same. Anyway, Taku is known (at least to me) from his wonderful and high-quality work for GTR1 (he/NimBis even produced a couple of carpacks, apart from LODs, track maps, etc, as he seems to be doing now for GTR2) an I never heard or read anything indicating that his work was a copy of somebody else's work (on the contrary).
On the other hand, he claims all the cars in this mod are made only by himself.
Enjoy the mod, then; I know I will.:p
Cheers,

And what would the mod be for?
Most mods have a "subject" or reason for the mod. It would be quite helpful to those on dialup to know ahead of time what the mod is about so that they might decide if they want it or not, and would not have to download and install to discover if they wanted it or not.

It has GT cars from FIA GT seasons 2005 and 2006. But, it DOESN'T HAVE the C6R and the Aston Martin, just the standard cars with the new liveries. But even without them, it's still a great mod.

As it is stressed on Taku's site in red letters:
All of the skins were made by Taku,
...
It includes no files at all which were made by other people.
They are all originated by NIBMIS.
If someone else also made earlier some cars with similar skins - too bad but it's nobody's problem - 10 people can make 10 times the same car ! :p :)
