Interest in an IMSA GTP mod?

Reading another forum I've discovered 'Bandit13' has a number of IMSA GTP models, including the BMW GTP and Porsche 962 either completed or well on their way.

This is what he says:_

' I have models and partial models of Albas, Argo, Royal, Marches, Ford Probes, BMW GTP, 962, and Corvette GTP models. I don't know how to mod for rFactor; just paint. I have asked for help and even offered to just give the models to a team for finishing. The models are not verty detailed but I still be leave with the high quality of graphics used it would make up for it.

I've got a great starter mod. A descent team could probably knock it out quick. But; no takers. Help me find someone who wants what I have to offer.

The Vette, Ford Probe, March 86G, and Jags have been done. Done enogh to get them in game as temp cars. I just don't know how too.'

I've contacted him to see if he would be willing to release these cars on GTR2 as a small mod, if someone steps forward and completes the cars, but I'm still awaiting an answer.

With Prototype C coming to rFactor there may not be a need for these cars on that platform, but I'd hate to see this work go to waste as I'm sure they'd be a great addition to the GTR2 world.

Even if someone just polished off the 962 and released a 962 Challenge mod for example, it would be great IMO. Plus there would be huge potential for new skins due to the large number of 962's that raced.

So any interest, I'm just putting it out there?

Depending on what needed to be done Id be willing to help finish it.
Ive just started cracking into GTR2...ok cracking isnt a good word now that I think about it...but ive just started messing around with GTR2 files and am picking up on it little by little..(the restless modder never sleeps!)

I'm interested to see those done and maybe someone could ask for permission from frank55 to convert his 1970 Le Mans mod for GTR2 as he said he's not interested in making the conversion?Hope to see both mods someday.

yeah.. well i'm almost done with the stuff I needed to finish so I can assist where needed again :) The main thing is finishing up the M1 Procar mod GTR2 conversion for BITD

These cars would be great to go with the Wiz Of Oz's Porsche and Lancia that he is doing for GTR2. We might as well take these cars and make our own Proto C mod. You can forget ever seeing any of Virtual LM's ProtoC cars in any Simbin product nor will you see the LM 70 cars in there as well. CSGT will be releasing their version of that mod for Rfactor and I have seen no plans to release it for GTR2.

I think that this is a fantastic opportunity to have Proto C cars in GTL and GTR2 without having to get permission or using any of the cars from the other sources!:up:

Just saw this post in the forum. Nice to be thought of. I will say this. If you want these model I will try and find them. They were created for a high poly/high res version of SCGT I was creating before my old computer creshed. They were created over three years ago and I will have to dig them up. But; the first conversion will have to be to rFactor. I don't have GTR2. As of know I enjoy rF and don't plan on getting GTR2. I would like to be able to enjoy the spoils of my work. Also; I would like to join the team converting them and help with the paints. I warn you though. There are no cockpits. Just the one you would see in the replays. But I will make them available if you want. And after the rF version is complete you may convert them to GTR2.

DUH!!! There not finished. They are in for the most part .vrl format or z3d. Some are in .MTS format. I've stopped modeling. I'm willing to share.

Here's some pics of what I got. Not all of it. Just a few goodies. The first is an unfinished Buick Hawk Camel Lights car. The second is a rough Corvette GTP. A little work would make this a nice car. The an almost completed Lancia. Needs a cockpit though.

there is a Group-C mod with the Lancia and 962 and is a blast. Bring it on cause I love this awesome machines....

I think its a 956 in the Group C mod, if we're talking about the same mod. My opinion is we need GTP because GTP is to Group C like Football to paint drying. The GTP cars are just so radical.
