I was wondering how it was possible to replace the textures files of some tracks. I know how to extract the *.dds files out of the *.gtr file but the main problem is "where do these textures show up?". Is there a way of showing the track-layout including the used *.dds-files?

Not sure what you mean, but if you want to replace track textures you usuaslly extract or copy and paste the files into the specific track folder, overwriting the originals.

I know how to extract the textures and I also know that I have to replace them. I was just wondering how I can find out where these textures show up in the game. Let's say there are 5 different Files for Grass and I want to know where they can bee seen ingame ...

How do you replace track textures?
If I like the textures of a certain track and want to have those in another track, what do I need to do?

TBH I'm not really upto speed on all of this.

I think you can replace the track/grass textures for any track, but obviously the billboards etc will be different.

It may be as simple as copy and pasting a 'road' or 'grass' texture into the track you wish to modify.

That's what I'm looking for. I want to replace the road surface for a track that is too sparkly. I heard in another forum that you could replace a track surface of one track with another that you might like better. Just not sure how to go about it.
