Change the pilot's name in Arcade mode ????

A friend asked me a question and I can't find the answer ...

Perhaps someone know it ?

His question :

"I'm trying to change the names of the pilots inside the game to the real ones.

Using BFZ Manager I changed the names in SETTINGS (cpu01, cpu02, etc)
and works fine in Rally mode. But in Arcade mode nothing happened.

So I changed the names in car_1, car_2, etc (ai.ini files) and nothing
happened again.

We have the names in EXTRA too but is impossible to import after export
and edit.

Can you help me? "

hmm.. if I remember correctly the BZF is not set to allow imports of the files in the 'extra' category :-|

as for how to change the names of the ai drivers in the arcade races I guess it must be by the ai files in the extras.bzf.. you could try exporting all the files from the extras.bzf and then editing them in notepad (you should find them in the exported data/extras folder made by the bzf manager), then copy those edited files into the "JoWooD\Rally Trophy\Data" folder and delete* the extras.bzf file that is there and see if that works.. from what I understand the game will just read the seperate files instead of the bzf as long as the bzf doesnt exist.. at least this method works with tracks ;)

*remember to backup the extras.bzf file to somewhere else before you delete it in case this doesnt work and you need to put it back

Simply change the driver names in the categorie settings. Then it should work.

maybe I should edit my original post.. you need to copy the folder with all the files from the exported data folder into the data folder,

so the path for the files from the extras bzf would be :
'JoWooD\Rally Trophy\Data\Extras'

It's not necessary to change your first reply.
You were very clear.
I extracted all the files that have inside the extras.bzf
After this I edited the ai.ini files and received the message I'd post above.

Simply use an Hex editor program and edit directly the Rally Trophy.exe file.

At the offset f5790h you can find the Pilots' name to change !

(It is for the french version, so perhaps with other version the offset address may be different...)

Thank you Zeb. This really works. I did change pilots' names to real ones.
The offset address is same also in english version.

BUT, how can I change pilots nationality? Now the flags are all wrong, Timo Mäkinen is not from Austria and the others are also wrong.

Did not found offset address where to change them. Does anyone know the answer?
