...Great news for the NFR Car mod team who are working on what looks to be a superb recreation of this exciting championship!

The New 2006 champion Sean Edwards has contacted them to help them out on making it as authentic as possible! :D

This is great news and just shows that this great moddable car sim is really heading somewhere, with just enough time and care we can beat the competition at it own game, thanks to the dedication of some very talented people, cheers to the NFR team and lets hope Sean can put his knowledge of the real thing into making this mod a kick ass drive!

The NFR team that brought us the ETCC 2003! That is really good news particularly inlight of the fact that the driveability of the ETCC cars is a bit dubious :o. It's got lots of good points but the cars handle like elephants on roller skates.

Snowy, have a question, which version of the ETCC mod are you referring to:

I for one to have newbs acquire a feel for rFactor physics would have them download just this mod. Maybe it's your selection of tracks, try Essington, Spa, and Silverstone(think they call it Northamptonshire)

Well that's the interesting thing because I had no problem with v1.1. I remember that as a ripping good drive! I installed v1.2 and have been considering going back to 1.1 ever since. I don't think it's the venue though I will do some tests just to make sure, you could be right. And I guess I'll install v1.1 in my other rFactor install and do some head to head comparisons.

What may be skewing my perceptions is that I've been driving all the various F1 mods trying to find one that stands out and is driveable without any driver aids. I particularly like the X-Race Indy mod, that has real driveability and without any aids I feel competitive. However none of the F1 mods seem to be quite forgiving enough for me.

I've noticed that when I do try other slower cars and sims I tend to struggle a bit - to get off the pace as it were!

OK the driveability is not quite as I would want but it isn't awful. However I do have one other minor issue with this particular mod. . .dare I mention the wheel arches?
