I've just bought a copy of Rally Trophy off e-bay.

Is there a guide anywhere on what patches, tweaks, mods etc. are recommended?

Anything to beware of with my hardware (XP1700+ @ 1917MHz, Ti4600, TB Santa Cruz Sound, Win2k) ?

Thanks for any info that anyone can provide.

Ian

Once you have delved through that little lot - reflect on this, to add more confusion. The original game has a torque multiplier in the global settings set at 1.3 - this makes the engines 1.3x more powerful than they should be - tyre grip is also increased. If you like the idea of realism, have a look here:

Sit back with a good drink and enjoy a long read!

Thanks for that...I've now got the game installed with the patch and KenKunen_Improved Car Physics_v1_1, I think. Any way of telling from in the game itself?

Now to my next questions.....

Is there a FAQ anywhere on how to drive? I'm starting with the FWD Mini, and not doing *too* badly, but have real problems with understeer at the tighter bends. I don't have a dual axis wheel, and backing off the thottle doesn't seem to get the front end to tuck in much. Using the brakes just seems to lock them and cause the car to slide straight on.

Any hints?

Thanks!

Ian

yeh.. if you have to slow for a corner do it before you get to it, but make sure you drive through the corner on the power in the fwd cars :)

There is an old thread here http://forum.jowood.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2258 Not sure if the game specific/car specific tips are still accurate with the new physics, but there should be some general old rally school tips in there.

It's good that there are still new Rally Trophy drivers though the game is 2 years old

Thanks for the links. Plenty of reading there!

I tried the Cortina after my understeering nightmares in the Mini. *Much* easier and faster. I guess all that GPL practice may have helped in controlling a wayward tail!

Thanks again,

Ian

Sounds promising, iriches. Hope to see you at Gamespy sometime soon. (That goes for Midi and jth56 too :) )
