Also, loads and loads of the same stuff at JoWood forum.

Ready for a real man's car yet? Get the Healey :OMG:

I have realised that if you pump accelerator when you are in slide it helps to keep it under control. When going to turn you can put smaller gear if you want to slide through corner.

You are in good company, when on a hot lap you could hear Ayrton Senna doing that   :trophy:

Hmm try to put streering sensitivity as low as you can from control options, maybe that's your problem

Hmm you should put deadzone to 0%.. i think can help too.

To set sensitivity even smaller edit input.ini file like this AnalogXAxisRange = {-120, 120};
although remember that this setting will lessen steering lock,

or in the same file set SteeringExponent value to 1.2 or something like this (this changes steering linearity).

Dont give up and practice. :)

I found the solution, it is called a Renault 8 Gordini. The car is easy to control and you will not find stage times from other people to distract you from learning how to handle RWD cars. :P

Just don't turn the steering wheel any more than absolutely necessary. Seriously, you only need to 'hint' in the direction you want to go. I hardly move it at all with RWD. Once you know the stage well enough start setting the car up for the turns as early as possible. Don't brake-just lift a little, turn in early and let the momentum carry you past the inside of the turn. If you do it right you'll pass the apex with the car facing in the direction you want to speed off in, and the wheel will be straight so you can put your foot down without spinning. The track is so wide, and the off-track so forgiving, you can get away with murder.

The car is good but i find it difficoult to control it on all surfaces except tarmac  -that thing about times is good but i want to know haw bad i am... :OMG: BTW i was allways tought that is better learn RWD on some stronger cars like Escort or Alfa disel because when i'm go back to somthing normal i finde easy to drive regullar Alfa but not for long-but still i have uploaded some replays just to fill Stage times with something-i know that times are bad but i will improwe-i guess... :D

it's easier said then done  but thx for the tips-i must correct my one big fault, driving FWD learne me that i newer take foot off the trottle  and that is not going at all with RWD...

I am no expert on this but for me it works to drive aggressivly. Dont be afraid to slide. If u are and hesitate then u spinn..
But it is not the fastetst way when you slide alot like I am :D

Also remeber that you have to use the trottle as much as the steering wheel.
Some corners I harldy turn the steering, just let the spinn from my RW
turn the car in.
If you are used to steer thoru the corner (FWD) it is a question of different thinking.. PLay around with the car and enjoy

Yep, I agree with Sladden. This is even more true for the faster cars. When I started learning the RWD-cars, I actually thought the Alfa was easier to drive than the slower cars since powerslides are easier to provoke with it.

Also remeber that you have to use the trottle as much as the steering wheel. i'm usually "sitting" at the trottle and i know that is my fault
just let the spinn from my RW
turn the car in.that turn my car out
PLay around with the car and enjoy :up:i'm playing but my times with cortina sucks :( -i say your replays with mini and i need to say that you driving it like RWD-it's better for you to stick with the alpine because you are good with it

Alfa non-FTC did the trick for me.

Russia 1, before the "left turn", put in the 2nd gear by the road sign. Turn the wheel slightly and step on the gas. Lift off the gas after a little bit. When the car is straight, floor the gas. (On second thought, apply the gas gently but steadily pressing down. Or pump it.)

Edit: BTW, that is not the fastest way to take that turn, but a good way to practice powerslides. Another good thing with the Alfa is that it responds greatly when you stick in a lower gear before a turn. I guess it has to do with the change in weight distribution. Its almost as if the car starts turning by itself.

thats because the engine braking is making the rear wheels lock or almost lock when you change down ;)

Yeah I now I slide too much.. But thats because its so funny
And it is a test of car control too isnt it?.. IF u can provoque the car into big slides and handle them at speed u activly control the car. Just turning throu the corners doesnt make my heart beat any faster. But of course, it is a more time-winning driving style. I can go more straigt but thats just to boring for me!

The intinct not to steer in the opposite direction of the corner was my biggest problem in the beginning. But u will get a hang of it im sure!
