Might be able to join in - Missus is on holiday! However, because of that, I am treating myself to a night karting, so won't be hime until about 9 pm. If I can get the pc on and the track installed, can I turn up for race 2?

Hi Guys, I will be making my first start hopefully tonight, tried to make it last week but got start time wrong, have been practicing with 31 car field
on Pro ( no assists ) Offline, finally have decent car control setup and am getting more comfortable with Momo wheel/pedals as my old setups for keyboard are not friendly with wheel, I will do the best I can to keep up and on track, if I do screw up I sincerely hope it does not adversely affect any others race, I would like to thank everyone who has taken their time to help me with my learning and the GREAT comradiere I have recieved online, special thanks to Kongo-Whoopster-Sunlap-XK289 and the many others, All you guys sure know how to brighten up an old mans day! Many Thanks, Kevin L Mallender.ps. start time for me 6:00 pm eastern? |

Race one had a good race no problems, went to make a cuppa came back to find game frozen up. Loads of tries to get out of lobby just made it before start of race two. Three or four laps into race game froze again. Any other game would be in the dustbin by now, it really does try the patience. Going to have a clean install for Nords, dont want this carry on on Sunday. Hope it didnt spoil anyones race. Bob.

Similar probs here, Bob
![]() My game froze in practice for race 1, and after a pc reset I couldn't connect to the race server. I tried again fo rrace 2 and still couldn't connect. This has happened too many times lately, and I'm finding myself increasingly drawn back to GPL. |

Well, that's one G25 going back to the shop, DAMN!
Race1. I was in third behind Peter and Pero but missed the brake marker and went off, back to 11th or so. Climbed and took offs from others as a gift and was 6th or so, then gearbox jumped out of 5th to 3rd and I spun and blocked the fast turn for Lade, sorry mate, I think your car was wrecked after that but I really couldn't help it. Well, after some serious chasing I came back to behind Mgoran, yep, the same guy I fight with on a regular basis at Simjunkies. He drives VERY well and though we were SO close for many laps he held it to the end and we finished 5th and 6th I think, GREAT stuff! Check the replay if you want to see another great fight, whoopieee! Race2 Pole, nice. Pero had left of course and Peter started from the back. I had a great start and a very nice first lap, that doesn't happen to often so I was very pleased! I could build a decent gap when the same shitty gearjump happened , at the same corner! When I got the car in the right direction again, Goran was close but I kept the lead and built another gap , of 4.5 seconds. Last lap.....same deal, from 5th to 3rd and off, same corner..... This time I couldn't prevent Goran and Malcolm passing me and 3rd was all that was left,.....SO pissed off. Oh well, great racing all and in race two it looked like Goran had another busy race , well done sir and you too Malcolm! Caspar PS Peter's rumbling and sighing on TS accompanied by many chat messages while I never saw him was VERY funny! ![]() Congrats for a great win in race 1. |

Wow, that was a fun race!
![]() Qualified 6th, but I managed to jump up to 3rd off the line. Ran wide out of turn 2, and Watty made the first of many moves up the inside into turn 4. I accidetnally pushed him wide coming out of turn 5, and then managed to hold him off for a few laps, but on lap 7(?) I ran wide again, he zipped past, and that was the last I really saw of him. ![]() I did my best to keep up, with lots of thanks to the backmarkers who all let me past cleanly A quick flash of the headlights as thanks (:p) and I was off to my best NoGrip finish to date. Great race guys, I really love this track. ![]() Thanks to Watty for giving me a good clean race and Pero for letting me onto the podium. Last edited by jammyozzy; 9 August 07 at 12:00. |

Got back from Karting at about 11, so missed it. Hope to be around next week.
Was shite at Karts too; qualified 17 out of 25. Made acouple of places up in the first couple of turns, and then some dork spins right in front of me half way into lap 1, and I spin trying not to hit him. The rest of the pack sail by, and I restart...last...Clawed my way back to 16 at the end of the 30 lap race, but it was great fun all the same. I was losing out because I was trying to use all the track, and the damn things grip so well you were much better taking a wider line round the bends and just keeping the speed up. |

I thought I'd wrecked my first race good n proper, firstly I made a very nice doughnut pattern at the hairpin, whilst letting all and sundry drive past, D'OH!!! I think I was in 6th before that happened? Trying too hard to catch up, shortly afterwards I lost the tail coming out of the flatout right down the hill piled into the tyre wall (The same place where Geoffers went off in race 2), strange, never had an off there before. Anyway, my steering was now pretty wonky, but the car still handled well, so I got going at around 15th, and had a good few spats with Madmac. Managed to get a pretty good lead, and then on home straight I missed 5th gear completely, put it into neutral and near blew the engine up
, as Madmac sailed past me. Back to square 1. Managed to catch up a while later and had another good spat. Can't remember what pos I finished in, 14th, 15th? I t was fun though.Made a better start with race 2, had a great battle with Goran that seemed to go for most of the race, great fun that. I'm gonna have a look at the replay of that. Shame about that gearstick Casper. I tend to smash stuff when thing like that happen
