Nothing to do with Luck Geoffers, that was shear professionalism what i witnessed last night! I'm pretty sure yer back up in the points again after this one! well done NG!
Istanbull...... what a track... and an E-type.... how slow ![]() Last night we found out just how fast and slow some cars could become, the Ferrari's where right up there in the 2.21's with JohnW leading the fight, Cap7 beeing not far behind, as a matter of fact, i think i remember cap was in front first.... or i was just denying JohnW's existance, since i dont believe in Aliens... As so far i haven't seen him in the races cant believe what ya cant see, right? yep.. all human here, all 5'8 and 270 pounds offit.Picking the E-type was kinda obvious to me, i just love the lines offit... and i wasn't gonna be buggered that it was deadslow, i just wanted to enjoy it. So, come racetime i'm in about 12th spot, get confused and see ppl taking off, whoops.. green green green somewhere i recon... missed the start completely Just took off, and found out the rest around me was also asleep. Tom, Heatcan had the weirdest error ever on the startgrid.... or not even there: as soon as he hit "start" he was floating somewhere above the midfield, NOT on the startinggrid..... he sayd he "delayed a plane to be here" ... i guess he means he called the airport to report a bomb; no worries, at this time he should be under arrest and Faux news will be there to report this blithering tourist"terrrrrst" (like GWB would say)Anyways.... coming onto T1, it's quite wide when everybody is asleep on green, i was expecting some squeezing, but hell no, just a barbeque.... Dastardly mistaken his winebottle for a shifter, corrected and hit first gear whilst going too fast... POOFFFF engine on fire... Musta been fun for that Falcon behind him (who was in that again.. doh!) With the demise of some and me relaxing i scooterd upto 9th spot or something and let Solmyr and BillS play infront of me, whilst Woody was starting to herass me from the back... so from relaxed driving, i went into superpersuitmode and got rid of woody, who obviously had a better setup, as he could get the E-type to steer in at higher speeds then i could, so my style was all upto finding the brakemarkers again. Might be that Woodster was on a different set of tires that actually had grip for the first 10 laps.. i never did experiment with tires... doh! Closing in on Solmyr's Ferrari (i thought those things could do 2-21's? or didn't ya tell Solmyr where the Boostbutton was?) and BillS's Renault Alpine (how i wish it would just simply blow up.. but oh no... it hadda haunt me later on) i noticed these guys were in a nice furball, So closing in was even easier... 2 dogs fighting, 3rd one runs off with the bone anyone? Solmyr went wide and Bill was already past and by the time i had rounded one curve, that sticky alpine had already completed 3 corners.. ah well... KETCHUP! ![]() Somehow i HAD to catch that alpine, call me vain, but i just cant let myself be beaten by a Renault, be it the alpine actually has very nice lines... it's still a bloody renault. (probably the best they ever built! yes.. my opinion, fry me. ) As i got closer, the alpine couldn't handle the high speeds of the straights, but it could bloody well corner, allthough bill didn't push it hard enough in the first part of our challenge, he DID in the last part... the pressure was completely on! it was good fun that bill was on our comms as well, we punned eachother on track AS well as on comms every couple of laps ![]() Where he would get me on the corners, and roll onto my bumper, i would get away on the straights, be it occasionally that he'd be on the inside, braking late and me keeping a gap for him when i had the feeling we was gonna hit... then a bit later i learned, with about 6 laps to go, just block the basterd when yer in front... going up the hill left, right.. then floor it and lose bill again.. he got infront a couple of times on that corner, but if i'd stay on his bumper that last straight would get me past him every time.. he could brake late for those last Esses, but he just couldn't find a way round the arse of the E-type, allthough he did try and succeed a couple of times... it was really a blast at trying to keep it together, and with the front tires failing first, i had to start swinging the rear out to try and get the car setup for the corner, and to warm the rears somewhat to start a drifting style. It did up my laptimes again, just enough to not have to keep blocking Bill's renault.. as it felt like that sometimes Since none of the SJ's were on podiumspots for as far as i could tell, i HAD to have 6th position behind Tom's (Champy's) 5th position.... when i crossed the line i was sweating like mad, i beat the bloody renault (sorry bill) but i also lost my "relaxed drive" what i had intended (and knew it was never going to work )As everybody was congratulating everybody , i made sure to get a couple more points by doing another lap..... i'm pretty sure not many ppl noticed it, twas for a reason ![]() Anyways, good racing lads, sorry i didn't post a post-race-report last week, just didn't feel like it, allthough it was a bloody good race. Kudos to Bill for only tapping me once when i hadda be slow to even MAKE the corner. Woof ~ Woof & :salute: edit: what the?! Quote:

Sorry NoGripers for my poor race, had almost no practice before qualif, in more of a prob on my G25 throttle, and i simply hate the track, and more than all a not nice pain in my right ankle, which was paining me at every heel and toe... etc
[Isn't this track a lot more bumpy than it should be ? I tough Istanbul is rather flat.. ] Congrats to podium, and thanks to all ! |

Hello all,
Just wanted to take this opportunity to offer my apologies. Qualified 4th for the race but when race started I had some serious bandwidth issues. Other cars on the track where they shouldnt be and I think Bill bore the brunt of this as I sideswiped him when he was 20 yards in front of me on my screen!!! Big apologies Bill. If I'd known about it at the time I'd have apologised then but I knew nothing till I watched the replay. I escaped shortly after that as I couldnt even get braking markers properly with the stuttering screen and didn't want to cause any more pile ups! |

Great result for us on saturday!
At 8.19 my other half said 'Is there no practise you could do for tomorrow, or a race tonight?' Practically unheard of on a saturday ....needless to say I downloaded the track quickly, jumped on with the only setup car of any description I had, one of my favourites in the game, the Mustang Trans Am. Rapidly did a quali lap of some description, got a decent jump at the start, and took full advantage of others problems to go from 9th to 4th, then slid past Watty at some point early on to take 3rdKnew from previous experience that the 250C is probably the fastest car in this bunch, still made the stupid error of trying to stay with John & Cap though, and well and truly paid for it later with some horrendous tire wear, front right nigh on 40, which made it understeer just a touch ....but managed to bring the beast home safely, metaphorically patting us all on the back for a job well done, first 4 places home, great stuff!Roll on sunday.... |
