Thanks, just bought GPL (£2.10!) to see if it's as good as DurgeDriven would have us believe, this will be very useful.

There will come a lap you go from fighting the car to listening to it and from then on it starts to come to together. The first time you nail a bend decent you really do feel it and start to understand how to drive them. I mean that is how black and white it can be for some there is no shades of grey, you don't half like GPL. Assuming your audio chipset works well with GPL , you have a half decent wheel and like to drive no aids you are 1/3 the way there.

I have a GPL disc sat in a draw next to my PC, hoping someday I would be able to play this sim again.
My heart jumped when I saw this link however, having looked at it, I think the heading is misleading - this should read 'Easy-Installation-Guide (provided you have a couple of days to spare and are confident you know what you're doing!). Just the thought of embarking on this is bringing me out in acold sweat. LOL. |

I would try GPLPS installer with standard '67 and 11 tracks. That will give you a good idea if you think it is worth to take to next level. Spam You do a session or 2 of GTR2 and next thing you want 20 tracks plus that no permission Targa fixed ![]() After months in GPL I will bet you the furthest thing from your mind will be Targa or any other addon circuit.

I downloaded the 2004 demo and had a 17 lapper around Watkins Glen in the Lotus, came 13th out of 20. Lapped, but happy.I think I'm going to like this, can't believe I haven't bought it before.

Also try the mods!
Especially the new 67 F2 mod (with very good default setups). A blast to drive, like any other GPL mod.

Don't like the rear view mirrors and roll bar from exterior views .
![]() Don't like the way ai turn bends and crab across track. ![]() Don't like I can't use CCM (Camera Control Master ) in '66 and '69 extra ![]() Thats is about it after 15 years since demo. Yeah, serious to finish your first race not many people would have done this. |

It took me 18 months to be able to do a lap at semi-race-pace.... After 12 years of GPL it's still a great day when I finish a race. Well done! |

Oh, I died 100 times.
GPLRank I started at +288 lmao I attacked the 10 circuits only and on the day I went negative I finally did Nords again and took 35 seconds in a few laps. ![]() It took me only 12 1/2 weeks to reach -8.15 in Lotus and Eagle and from what I was told at the time that was pretty fast. But I lived and breathed it almost every spare waking hour was spent even falling asleep a few times. After that I was totally exhausted and just started taking pics and videos and never improved my Rank. And I had shared cars to do it and most in practice ![]() That is when the enormity of Monster Rank online hits you. ![]() ![]() Today I am so far off negative it is not funny but to be fair my broken momo is horrendous to drive with, if I had G27 I think I could get to -30 that would probably be my limit but I may surprise myself. BTW In case any newbies are wondering a standard GPL Rank is based on your best lap times at the 11 circuits, practice or race in any 1967 F1 car or combination of 1967 F1 cars, offline or online. So +288 means I was 288 seconds ( 4 minutes 48 seconds ) of the GPL lap records. rof then another minute and a half to Huttu. lol I highly recommend GPLRank to any GPL novice you have a plethora of charts and graphs that show you your Rank history you can compare to any other drivers you can see the tracks you are slow and fast and what times same people get in different cars, stuff like that.
