Hello,
I am experiencing a problem with GPL and my controllers. The problem is, GPL wants to see only the first controller to assign it to steering axis. I have multiple USB devices plugged in(5 to be exact). The order of my devices is as follows: Controller ID# 1 = Thrustmaster TH8RS H-Gate Shifter Controller ID# 2 = Belkin Nostromo gaming keypad Controller ID# 3 = ECCI 7000 FFB Steering Wheel Controller ID# 4 = CST Pedals by Todd Cannon Controller ID# 5 = Virtual Joystick created with PPJOY .....GPL thinks that my TH8RS Shifter is my "wheel" and assigns it as axis 0. Unfortunately, it is impossible to tell Windows 7 to rearrange the order of my hardware ID#s. So, with that being said, is there a way for me to tweak some kind of ini file, in order to tell GPL to ignore the first two USB devices connected to my machine? Or....some sort of utility out there that will tell GPL that I want my ECCI 7000 FFB wheel to be assigned to axis 0(steering), and my CST pedals as axis 1(throttle, brake)? For the record, I downloaded GPLShift and that doesn't seem to help my cause ![]() Please help guys, because it will be impossible to proceed any further and play the game this way ![]() |

What if you unplug everything but the wheel , set steering to wheel and the pedals to keyboard for now.
Then you hook up next device and select gears Then hook CSP and change pedals from keys you set when you installed wheel. I do not see how GPL can change these once re-set manually and seperate. Sure if you hook up all together well who would not be confused. ? |

Bummer well I sure someone will have a answer
What happens if you only plug in wheel and shifter and configure keyboard for pedals. Then hook up pedals. ? |

I'm not on my racing rig and can not check back. So this is only from my mind:
To have multiple controller support you need GPLShift. That tool comes with a configuration file (? gplshift.ini ?) that has most of the required documentation in it as comments. You can open the file with any text editor (i recommend Notepad). Search for an entry that sounds like "multiple controller support" (sorry, don't know the exact spelling) and make sure it is set to the correct value. I don't know how many different controllers can be supported with GPLShift but you can connect at least a keyboard, a wheel, and a gear shift unit. Good luck, Thomas |

If I plug all four of my usb controllers in and run GPL, it will only see 3 of them, and my pedals won't work, since they are last in the list of usb devices connected in Windows. Isn't there a way to workaround this?

GPL was designed before USB was even available, we're lucky it recognizes such devices at all; but multiple devices just confuse it. With most games/sims i can have my wheel, joystick, even a gamepad hooked up simultaneously with no problems; but with GPL anything other than the wheel connected means control assignments scattered all over the devices and few options to reassign them ...so I became accustomed to disconnecting everything but the wheel for GPL.

GPLShift.ini has a section -
Code:
[ GPL AXES ]------------------------------------------------------------------- Share_All_16_AXES = 1 ;OPTIONS: 0 1 ;EFFECT: ;1 = Share ALL GPL 16 AXES between 3-5 active Game ; Controllers, instead of only 2 (first & last) ;e.g: St. Wheel(3) ext. Pedals(5) Shifter unit(2/0) ; or Joystick (2-4) used by FFShifter software ;-------------------------------------------------- DisableUSBshifter2AXES = 0 ;OPTIONS: 0 1 ;EFFECT: ;1 = Will prevent ACT LABS USB Shifter connected to ; single USB Box (1-IN-1) using 2 AXES, so these ; can be released to other game controllers e.g. ; extra 3 Pedals set, using 5 axes ;-------------------------------------------------- |
