Missed Silverstone as I was away for a few days, back to try and rescue my Season with three weeks to go. Enjoying Philip Island in my first practice session;
http://members.iracing.com/membersit...4&custid=37971 then went a bit quicker in my second one; http://members.iracing.com/membersit...4&custid=37971 Fixed Series of course. |

I should have missed Silverstone!! I had some run ins with some obnoxious fellows!
Pulled a 3rd in the top split, but it didn't pay well points wise, musn't have been anyone in the Ford in split 2. Drop week. Will probably run 2 or 3 races at Phillip Island - which will give me a huge milestone I've been looking forward to!! My liveracestats forum sig will switch my 'fave car' from the ARX at 15 starts to the Ford I faired well here last season when I was just starting out in the Ford - but my setup hasn't aged well.. about a second and a half off the pace so far after a practice session. Niek, who is the regular top Ford driver who posts his setups, posted his and it doesn't suit me at all, a very harsh and tight setup this week. |

Fixed set for HPD is good, they usually are, I think it was only Road America that I did not like, luckily Eric sets up the HPD they way I would like it

Had a great race Friday night even though I only got 77 pts.
Tonights race was even better in third going well when second spun, I got a netcode hit, didn't even tough him visually and got the dreaded meatball, drove the car comfortably to the pits only to get the dreaded "Too much damage, we're done!" message. Spoilt what was shaping up to be a good race. |

bahh I hate that! Got a really bad one in my F1 race - a guy was rejoining the track, atleast half the track away, I got a 4x and horrible damage.
- My PI race went quite well - finished 2nd of 5, had a great lead battle for 25 minutes at the end, I was much faster but just couldn't get by safely as he was driving defensively very well. Same as you Allan, good race result but only got 80ish points, so another drop week for me probably. |

My Season's been pretty poor and I've got 5 drop weeks already! That doesn't really compute! So even my PI 77 will get counted in my score.
If I get reasonable results in Wks 11 & 12 I might make the Top 25 but that's the best I can do I think, pretty disappointing Season all around. |

Sounds like my previous season Allan. Doesn't matter, it happens.
I've been having quite a good season, usually being in the GT hotsplit and actually taking a win at Phillip Island this week. I'm 4th in division 3 I believe and I'm usually faster than normal around Mosport and Atlanta. Though I am used to crashing myself off the track at RA.

Mosport & Road Atlanta are two of my favourite circuits, if Fixed isn't affected by landmines it will be good.

Can't wait for these two classic race tracks!
Both of these tracks last season were in my HPD days - so I'm really excited to tackle them in the Ford. Both tracks you run your own race and concentration is key! Personally, the races where mistakes are common and there is high attrition are my favourite! But it's very easy to become the guy doing the attrition..inging and smack a wall! |

Managed to get some laps in for this week, it's a bit of a wild ride in the HPD and passing will be fun (not);

Had a good but hectic Qualifier, a few less cars to deal with I might have got another 1/10th off;
http://members.iracing.com/membersit...8&custid=37971 I've not found any land mines in fixed, bumps that are tricky, yes, land mines no. |

Seems like a good lap time!
My memory confuses me, because I can clearly remember having read something about something that was done to improve the situation with land mines (or possibly this was just expected due to having Road Atlanta and Mosport on the schedule?), but I have no idea what it was. Still, the real underlying cause I don't think has been fixed yet? |

Underlying problem not fixed yet but drivable with the right set-up. Only affects the fast cars with downforce.

Not a great first race, hit up the rear trying to avoid a GT into the final turns;

Had my race in the bag - I managed to survive a wreck on the backsretch which took out the 3 higher irated guys than me, including one of the best Fordies! after about 20mins I had a lap on the field.
Then I decided to daydream, dropped a wheel off in the turn 2 left hander = Fence. 7mins damage - still got 4th/7 and gained SR and IR, but not good for points. Road Atlanta is one of my alltime favourites, dating back to the Forza days! Can't wait to run the Ford there - hoping for a win to cap off my fairly good season! |

Incredible, get wrecked by another driver 9 laps from home and still getter good points (well better than many other races this Season!);
http://members.iracing.com/membersit...6&custid=37971 This Season has been my biggest failure to date, hoping next Season will be better. |

Bad luck
![]() I'm also a bit bummed because I won't be making my regular slot tonight.... got two uni assignments due tomorrow - but I might be able to make the Sunday night splits after F1 ![]() Really hope I can have one last bash this season - although my second half of the Proto/GT hasn't been great - the first was amazing, 4 wins, and my road/oval iratings have gone up about 300 this season - so I'd really like to honor my best ever season with a good Ford race at Atlanta. However I did have two great Indycar races. So still a good swan song! CANNOT WAIT FOR SEASON 2!! |

Well at last a decent race to finish the season off on;
http://members.iracing.com/membersit...5&custid=37971 Could have been 3rd but got tapped in the rear by Eric Signal (my old RTR mate), racing incident while trying to pass an uncooperative GT which was on his own. Up to 22nd in Div 2 but I'm guessing that will drop by Tuesday morning. Still, there is always next Season! |
