I hope they add a lot of control axis and the ability to look into corners.. otherwise I'm out before I'm in.
When I saw the developers, who never rode before, talking bikes.. I knew the SBK series wasnt going to be a 'simulation'...

excluding gp bikes, controller input for pc moto games is horrible, the worst in pc gaming. a casualty of being the abused batterd stepchild of console crossover i suspect.

1. Remove the dead zone on the controller!
2. Look to apex. |

The bikes in 2011 handle like mud! It takes literally two seconds to change from one side to the other. Most likely because of the console focus and to accommodate game pads which are too twitchy to allow precise movement. I agree with traction control too, in 09 you had to feather the throttle to avoid high siding. In 2011 you can put your foot down in the middle of a corner and hardly anything will happen. Also you can put the brakes on full and the rear end will stay firmly planted. If you did that on a real bike you would be thrown forward into next week!

People with pad needs 2 completely different set-ups IMHO. One that accomodates the move / jerk the thumb stick at hearts desire to get around a corner, and one that thinks steering. The latter likely wants a minimum of smoothing influence...
Some devs don't want too many settings and have to rely on their own experiences and testers and QA. If the settings are good it should be possible to remote control a real car or other vehicle with that setting. Maybe not the fastest or best way as the feedback isn't the same at all... but it should work (bike is a different story of course) . Not that I have done research on that field... (yet )The same of course applies to steering wheels and other devices as well. |

The full simulation mode in 2011 is akin to arcade mode in 09. HUGE traction control and braking assist turned on. The game is definitely migrating towards arcade over simulation, just very slowly so that we won't notice lol!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_RSfOSgBH4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRML_bPsIAw Some weird FOV wobbling in the gameplay video... either that or I'm drunk. WRC3 is supposed to get a new graphics engine by the way. So maybe they will use it in next years' SBK. AC looks very nice

Graphics can wait... what I'd want some historic content and tracks, some road bikes, maybe better sound.
But the content will be difficult in a licenced game they usually can just add the current season and maybe older seasons (like in WRC) Also fully customizable camera and controls.
